Pics of my Skyline...

Not to mention importing cars are incredibly expensive. A friend of mine who was serving in Korea bought a 90 something Skyline and wanted to bring it back to the states, but the cost just wasn't worth it. Especially considering those cars aren't worth a whole lot. Not to say it isn't a nice car but he told me they were about as common as Camaros are here. I think I remember him saying it would be lots of time and about $7k.

skylines are rather common here, but not like you imagine them to be. Unmodified, my car was quite possibly the worst drive out there. I mean TERRIBLE. It was heavy, didnt steer for s***, the turboes lagged like my grandma getting out of her wheelchair and pissed gas away. This is how most skylines are like here, as opposed to the race machines we see everywhere in mags. all in all, i paid about 20k for the car and all the modifications, but if i got it to the states in the shape its in now, it would easily be worth 60k. Not that i would sell it, but still saying some people are willing to do it for profit.

I'll get it over, then ill rebuild and show up to some mazda events with it, heh heh heh.

import it to Mexico then you just have to deal with that piss poor excuse for customs from there to here. Or just import it as a track car (no registration) and work on it from this end, at least having the car here.

Nice! (thumb)

Any places to drive it fast in HK?

Oh My God yeah. The average highway cruising speed is about 90. Thats barely when the powerbands kicks in on her, haha...

There are a lot of windy roads here going through the mountains, but VERY narrow, and you have to watch out for buses. There's also a track right across borders in South China, i go there pretty much every thursday. It has a 1/4 and a small 5km road course. I'll post pics when i go this week.

really honestly though, this car begs to be driven on the track. In traffic and at speeds below 60, this car is a dog. It studders in traffic, the clutch (2plate) is jerky as hell and you need a lane on either side of you to launch it without risk. needless to say it drifts easier than i want it to with that amount of power.

The best way of explaining how to drive it is that if you want power, drop 2 gears, matt it, and watch the smoke and your opponents in the rearview. I've roasted the tires on an onramp in 2nd gear accellerating from 55 mph. just plain disgusting.

Ah HA! In the first pic you posted in the other thread, that profile shot, I thought it was an R33, but your sig said R34 so I didn't wanna make myself look like a jackass for being wrong. But I knew all along, lol.

The R33 is RWD, right? Are all of them rwd and only the R34 AWD, or are there different versions of each?

GTR = AWD
GTS = RWD

yea, there are different versions of each. I belive his is a GTR, therefore a AWD.

We need to get you a copy of GT4 bro.

Have it, just don't play with skylines too much.

Thanks a lot. I've never caught that fact until now for some reason. Much appreciated.

ya sorry about the sig thingy. I just noticed it when i made this post.
And Daedalus is correct:

GT-R- AWD and T/T
GT-S- (usually) RWD and single HUGE turbo

they also make the V-spec version which has an upgraded Atessa suspension and LSD for racing, but it rides rougher than a 3cent crack *****.

Can I get some more pics, that would really be quite cool , maybe get some pics under the hood. And the interior. I have never seen the interior of a r33. Thanks

Two words...Sweet Ride! Really came out nice...it's clean and mean...I can relate somewhat to the being in "asia" thang...as I live in Japan at the moment...unfortunately it would not be wise for me to drop a lot of dough on a ride now...but the day will come...What sort of top speed is your skyline capable of?

Thanks a lot antoine... I actually am not a fan of the color, but everyone on the board seems to like it... ive been wanting to go gloss black forever with it. Japan is great, actually thinking of buying an STI and shipping it. Its a restore but i know who it was who wrecked it, so i believe when he says only panel damage. Where in Japan?

As far as money goes, i feel your pain. My insurance on this is almost 600 USD a month! oh well, you pay to play...

As far as top speed, well on public roads i have hit 280km/h(175mph) twice on a smooth road with no turns for about 3km, and i prayed to god both times that i would make it out alive... I still had about 500rpm to redline too, just didnt wanna push it.

As far a stracks go, in South china my fastest to date has been this slip:

at 20psi:

60 foot time 2.030
1/8 Mile ET 5.000
1/8 Mile MPH 98.00
1/4 Mile ET 7.090
1/4 Mile MPH 138.00

this was on semi slicks on a 95 degree day though, and before tune-up and not at max boost. I will try a few runs at 24-28psi soon... just need some slicks befor that cuz its just silly without them.

Hey Yes .. im from NH .. tell me where your from in NH .. i am interested to know .. and also i know the guys at motorex and s*** they even sent me a christmas card .. getting that car isnt really all that hard .. yes there are spec of this car tht has to be changed .. emmisions, windshield .. also on some models even the drivetrain will need to be changed out to have a 80/20 front to back ratio and yes it can be quite costly for any mandatory changes needed .. although .. you may work it out with motorex to do as they have b4 .... they get the car in the Us port .. it is rigouriously looked over and they imediatly ship it to the nissan dealer/ service centers in CA which will then take the list of items needed to be swapped out on your car and do the work .. then you have to sign the financial agreement (loan) to make the payments on it to cover the cost of the repairs .. i think it would be safe to say if you are working for a Multi international company that flys you to H/k and that you own this Skyline .. you should have no problem getting a loan to cover the cost although .. you keep all aftermarkey performance parts and when you get her back .. you re add your stuff .. I know of this since a guy here in Knoxville has a silver R33 GTR and also i was in the market for the R34GTR Vspec 2 not long ago .. and I was looking at a total cost of $90,000.00 USD for the car, shipping, and work

someone explain to the 1/4 ET 7, thats not really 1/4 mile in 7seconds is it? If so, %$^$^$#^%$^%$^$^@&%*^&!!!! I WANNA RIDE IN IT!

well I see you say your from Goffstown .. hmm ... i know lots of people there and my brother owns a resturaunt there also .. and my other brother is a police officer there. one question how old are you .. you dont happen to live @ 67 Tenney Rd do you ?
