Picked up new CX-5 GT with Tech and questions

Just picked up the CX-5 GT with tech
Black ext/ int

Got a few questions

Is it normal to smell something similar to a plastic burn with the new car?
Also what seems like inadequate insulation, the AC is turned to rather high speed and cold temp but still feels warm inside... might the black on black be the cause?

Havent smelled any plastic burning. Actually the cx5 has a frigid air conditioner. Not sure what thats about. Are you using the thermostat or no? If you just turn on the air, not the auto mode, and have the temp guage set at say 22, the air that blows out of the vents will be 22 degrees. If you run it on auto, the system will adjust to get the car temp to whatever it is set to and maintain that temp.

Burning smell? Yep, that's normal. It goes away in a day or two. I had that smell on pretty much all the new cars I've owned.

I have black on black and live in Louisiana. On days like today,98 degrees, my air conditioner is definitely not adequate. It is ok as long as the engine is not idling. If it is idling it gets warm quick. Make sure you have the air on recirculating. You definitely don't want to be pulling outside air when it is hot outside.

I would try that recirculating button, it was 28C today with full sunshine...most likely not as hot as 98F, but enough sunshine to heat up the car

I wouldn't get air fresheners until I lose that new car smell.
