Cool video! My truck has the same motor as that old celica & it'll still do burnouts with oversized all terrain tires on it. Mee luv yota long time.

The Greddy exhaust came off of a Protege5 at the junkyard...I searched a little and found A Greddy catback online but it looks different. I'm not sure what the deal is with it, but it looks pretty sweet and the price was too right to pass it up. LOL

Thats the Sp2 exhaust and yes its made for the p5

LOL 22R engines FTMFW! I have an '86 with the 22RE in it. That's my next project...

^^^yea i wanted it too, but too much money. And even though Racing beat is amazing, i really dont like the way it has the "external cooler" surrounding around the actual tip...but the sp2 looks amazing. its great sounding too.

I'll have to see how it sounds with the KL.

Got the title in the mail from ForceFed. Woohoo!

An update: Got the MP3 wheels on the car and got the car in my brother's shop, finally. 3 pics:

Man, without an engine weighing it down in front, it's got some killer wheel gap!

It's been a while...

Got the drivetrain up to my dealership a few weeks back. Just ordered parts for it(timing belt, water pump, tensioner, valve cover gaskets, main seals, thermostat, plugs...few other things) and they should be in this week. My dad will be "bullet-proofing" it as he's done a few others, and then we will bring the car up and start the swap.

I bought 2 Hondas that were traded in and towed in and am kinda hopeing to sell one or both by the time I need to bring the Protege5 up. Management is letting me keep these cars at the dealership which is awesome but I don't want to take too much advantage of it and store a 3rd car there. lol

Just letting everyone know that this swap is still going to happen. I've been slacking/working full time/etc...and the Protege5 has been sitting at my brother's shop - out of sight, out of mind type of thing. :/

Also have been helping a friend put a J32(that's the 3.2L V6 VTEC from a Acura CL/TL Type S) in his '01 Integra Type R for the last couple of weeks. Getting his car drivable has reinstilled how cool my V6 swap will be...kinda lit the fire again. lol His will blow the doors off mine but mine will still be the "nicer" car...just not as fast that's all. :)

I'll be posting up progress, of course. Be patient! I take time... lol

I live roughly 3 hours from st louis in Nixa, MO... This winter when you get hardcore into it, give me a shout and ill come up for a weekend!! I may not know my way around an engine, but im good at grabbing tools and some making part runs! haha!

Got the car up to my dealership where I will be doing the swap. Also bought a timing belt, water pump, tensioner, plugs, gaskets, and seals, and whenever my dad has time/want, he's going to help me prep the KL. I will then do the swap once the engine is ready to go. Hopefully before the end of the year...hopefully.

Officially started on it. Yesterday my dad and I went up to the dealership. Got the swap into my dad's work area then removed it from the subframe and separated the engine and transmission. Got the engine on a stand.

I need an oil pan and 2 sensors so far. Not a big deal since my brother is a KL enthusiast. lol He has thousands of parts for these things.

Some time this week or during the weekend we'll pull the engine apart and replace the gaskets, seals, timing belt, water pump, tensioner, plugs, and whatever else I bought for it. Might get everything done and ready to go in the car at once...

... but only the lower 2 mounts are in, 'cause I lack the uppers. Nothing else is connected.

My dealership is taking one of my dad's bays and turning it into a place to take pics of our pre-owned cars. Why, I don't know. But that was the bay where my parts were. lol So after boxing everything up and putting it in my "storage office"(where I keep my hardtop), I had to go somewhere with the engine/transmission. Into the Protege5 seemed like the best idea. :D

Progress is progress. I'm a bit surprised how well the KL fits in there. I'm looking forward to getting this done more and more.
