Petit LeMans

at the mid-ohio race there was talking about the BK-Motorsports (ie P2 Lola / Mazda MZR-R) debuting their closed-cockpit racer @ Petit, so I'm looking forward to that too. And while I do love some DBR-9s, I've always got room for the Risi Competizione F430s :)

EDIT: Is Rahal Letterman going to be @ petit? I'd be awesome to see that new M3 tearing it up

I think the M3 is supposed to be there....maybe even the new Lexus or elise that Marlon was talking about.... going to miss some good cars this year :(

I heard the same about the BMW and Lexus, but I'm not sure if they are racing or just going to be on show. I also heard the Mazda rumor too. Man I am already to excited for this. I'm thinking of skipping PT altogether and coming down Thursday night and camping out till Saturday.

I'd really like to make it out this year, but we'll have to see how the finances are looking around then. Gotta pay off my engine bill asap.

I might try to make this being that I have never been before. Can I meet you guys there even though I left the mazda scene and I am now a V-dubber? Do they also allow pets if you are camping? If not got to board the dogs cause it's just to far to drive back home and back to the track.

The new enclosed Lola cockpit on the B-K Motorsports LMP-2 car will make it's debut @ Petit Le Mans, Along with the Rahal-Letterman BMW.

I'll check to see if I have any tests that friday, but if I dont I might just blow off class and come over thursday evening.

Now, you'd think that me being so f***ing close to the course I'd be there... but I think my wallet says otherwise. I'll just walk outside, sit in the Protege with the windows down and listen to the cars screaming around the track, kinda like back in the day when you'd climb a fence to see the ballgame from a distance.

Edit: Actually, I might go. How much is it usually? (Oct. 1-4 gives me plenty o' time to sell blood, kidneys, or semen.)

I'd DEFINITELY be down for some free action. I am the typical mooch. Take some here... accept a few here.... (anxiously awaits GACC joke here)

As much as I'd like to say that the free tix wasn't the best part, it always will be usually. It was mostly equally as cool to have some of the fringe benifiets that Marlon hooked up. I know it didn;t draw a huge crowd but I loved parking in our own Mazda Coral. Meeting the drivers and crew up close, auotgraphs, swag, etc. It was a good time all around. I am wearing my hat out so I need a new one this year to replace it!

Ditto. It was really cool being able to talk to the drivers, walk around the pits, drool on the cars, take pics, etc.

Though for me, one of the highpoints was Scott styling in his new undergarments. :p

When did you guys get to meet the crew and walk around the pits? I remember last year I got there a little after lunch, so I missed a lot. This year if I go I'd try to make it there Friday afternoon.

the SWC GT race is generally on Friday around lunch time, so i'd imagine friday afternoon to be too late. Just duck out all of friday and come hang out. I should be there at least Thurs - Sat, MAAAAAAYBE Wed.

Ugh! I need to stop reading this thread. It makes me sad we're not gonna go to Petit this year. :(
