Performance Drop-Off?!?

Ive had my Speed3 for just over 10k miles & Ive noticed that the performance just seemed to drop off overnight?? The car still moves, however it feels as if I am missing a whole lot of torque. I thought the problem was "in my head," but I have also noticed the absence of torque steer when accelerating through a turn. The car's gas mileage has also shot up. I have been averaging 20 - 22 miles per gallon driving normally. Last week I hit 26.53 miles per gallon while flooring the petal almost every time I accelerate. Does anyone know what the problem could be, or is there a simple check I can do myself? Is it possible that there is an air leak in one of the hoses?? Any help is appreciated!

I know for me the cars performance seems to vary a lot with the temperature. Same with the MPG, i just get worse MPG in the winter.

it could just be the winter fuel mix that is out there, but i think a big part of it could just be you are used to it. it seems to be a pretty common phenomenon with these cars, as well as others i am sure

Have you installed in aftermarket parts, what type of gasoline are you using?

Typically the colder the air, the better the turbo performed (summer day vs night) And with that gas mileage goes down, which it had all winter until now. As for gas, 91 octane and the only aftermarket part installed is a Cobb sri

I average 26.5 mpg with semi spirited driving with the occasional "all-out". You're most likely just getting used to the power - I thought the same after a 1000 miles or so.

Same thing just happened to me this friday... Mazda has the car now, they are supposed to be changing the A/F ratio sensor... ill let you know if that fixes it

check the stock bpv its really gay and cheap and plastic lol and it leaks like crazy cuz ur prolly boostin less then stock so ur mpg is goin to increase most likely but i am no college edu. so i might b wrong hahaaaaaaaaa

so that's what it is, normally i get 150+ with 1/2 a tank
i noticed now that it's so friggen cold, i barely got 120 @ 1/2 tank so far
looks like a 230-240 tankful instead of my normal 300

i push 200 on half a tank, 30-40 degree days. not stock BPV, that crap went as soon as i had money to change it. i think i can get about 375 on a tank. I wonder why some people have issues with mileage with cold weather, and others don't.

Yikes, I get 285 miles per tank and I thought I was doing good. Tanking up with 12.4 gallons at the pump, thats 22.9 Miles per gallon. Thats supposed to be spot on - how the HELL are you guys getting 375 miles!? Thats 30 MPG! I get that on the highway, but in the city? No way.

In this BITTER cold (-20F) I get 225 miles on a tank. Thats 18.1 MPG. Every vehicle here is affected similarily; my civic went down to 24 MPG from 32 in the winter, and my father's Tundra gets a pitiful 7.7 MPG in the winter.

you can complain im getting 180 miels on whole tank when im not on the boost(deadhorse

wow, i get 27 to the gallon. i can see how my temp is fairly warm to -22, but i mean damn. i do mostly highway driving, but my city is still 22-23. My mods are CPE-intake, Greddy RS BPV, PTP Testpipe, and thatl do it. are you heavy modded?

the MPG computer reads high, but mine says 27mpg during winter and generally 30-35mpg in summer. Gallons vs miles figured manually is about 22-25mpg winter and 29-35mpg summer...mostly city but not many stops so it works out nicely usually.

Stock. Been getting 22~ish MPG city since new. 5000 miles on it now. I romp on it quite a bit in the summer and get 22, in the winter I'm super light footed (have to be, traction issues) and never go over 3k rpm and get 18 MPG.

I did however get 38 MPG on long trip, doing 70 MPH and not passing. That was nice, seeing over 450 miles on my trip computer without even have the fuel light on. 12 gallons went in, so thats 38 MPG.

Methinks someone forgot to reset their trip computer ;)
