Parking my CX-5 on the street and then...

Wanted to share this incident i just had this morning while parking my cx-5.
As i was looking for street parking, i see a car reversing out of a spot, (pondering why she didn't just pull out going forward since there were a lot of space in front of her) anyways as she was reversing, i pull up past the car to the open spot and start backing up. As i'm backing into the spot and straightening out my car, the lady driver is honking at me...(thinking i'm too close to her car, i pull up a bit, but she's still honking). I get out of the car, and ask the lady if i took her spot inadvertently... She rolls down the window and saids to me "you couldn't wait till i make a left turn into the street, why are you in such a rush?" I look at the intersection she was mentioning and it was way back another car length and at the time when i pulled past her, she was still reversing, so I'm supposed to know she wanted to make that turn even while she was reversing with the left turn signal on?? I told her you're not supposed to do that, you should be making a U-turn and make a right instead.. or just keep reversing...why were you continuously honking at me?? see diagram..what a great start to a morning!

i'm all good now, just had to vent a little and make the diagram, going to pull the video footage tonight from my dashcam just so i can avoid parking near this crazy driver...
i just felt this incident was too crazy, like what was she thinking? it wasn't like i cut her off or anything...all she had to do was continue backing up so she could make the turn, but instead waited till I parked my car and kept honking to let me know, i should've waited for her to make the left turn...

I was driving through a small town once and the fellow behind me was texting. He had his phone held up right in the middle of the windshield plain as day. He was drifting around in his lane, speeding up, slowing down, getting too close to me and then backing off. Finally he caught me looking at him in my side rear view mirror and I mouthed "get off the phone". He stuck his head out the window and started yelling obscenities at me, giving me all kinds of gestures. I just shook my head and kept going. You can't change peoples' minds no matter how wrong they are.

Good old Kaps showed up again! Go get your brake bled properly ASAP!

I thought Texas drivers are bad, but now I found California drivers, at least in Bay Area, are even worse!

I didn't mind driving around in the Bay area of CA the few times I went. Traffic kinda sucked, but nobody pulled any stunts that were outright dangerous or scary to me.

The worst drivers I've ever found...Utah. Yep, Utah. Every time I go to Salt Lake City, I see some truly awful, dangerous, rude, and scary driving. CO has been getting worse with all the CA (CA drivers, need I say more?), NY (aggressive drivers), and TX (every drunk driving report call I've placed to the hwy patrol in the last 2 years have had TX plates except 1) transplants bringing their bad driving habits, but still doesn't top Salt Lake City for bad driving for me. I've been seeing a ton of UT plates around here lately too. Ugh. Utah drivers are the absolute worst.

I was once driving down the road in the burbs of DC...two lanes each direction with a concrete median strip...and this beat up Delta 88 came flying right up on my bumper. I pulled into the other lane and let him fly past me...better he be in front of me than behind me.

So I catch up to him at the next red light, and over the sound of my radio, I hear what I believe to be 2 people arguing. So I turn down my radio and look around, and the yelling is coming from the Olds sitting in front of me. The guy is in there all by himself, yelling & screaming & beating on the dash. The car was actually rocking on the shocks.

That's why I pull over and let people pass...and I keep my fingers to myself.

Yep, I do that too. I'm usually the spirited driver, but I'm also not a in and out of lanes guy. Someone is always going faster and they are more than welcome to go around me. I'll move over.

I think it's safe to say you have a lot of free time on your hands. This reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where George takes a day off work so he can recreate that whole workplace situation in an empty shoe box.

To be fair, the included drawing made the situation he described a whole lot easier for me to understand, so I appreciated the extra 5 minutes it took to draw that. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

I drive to work, very early (6:00) in the morning. Closer to work, there's a mile long, super wide road that has two lanes per side. I was driving my MX5 with the top down on one of those mornings and passed a guy in a large pickup truck (Hint: Some pickup drivers hate small vehicles.) who was in the right lane. When I stopped at the light at the main intersection, the guy pulled up along the side of me and started yelling at me like a madman. The guy looked to be in his early 30s at most. I guess he had expected me to apologize but I did the opposite - screamed at him as if I were even more of a maniac. Honestly, it was ridiculous that he would be upset that I passed him on an empty road at 6:00.
He immediately looked shocked as he stopped yelling, but as he pulled away, said something like "I'll squash you like a bug!" At that point, I burst out laughing. It became a memory I will not easily forget.

Flashback to George grabbing the power ranger figure and then Jerry grabbing the peanut M&M and saying "I think the M&M should be you". Hahahaha.

I did it so i can convey the incident easier, it worked didn't it?
a whole 5 mins worth of sketching...that's a lot of time. =P

I had a crazy neighbor like that when I was in suburbia. He would yell at neighbor's kids in the middle of a Saturday afternoon when they were really doing nothing.

It's fun getting in the face of someone who is crazy and being crazier. You can literally see the wheels turn before they walk away. And he stopped yelling at the kids

I thought you guys down South from Canada would behave much more... polite? Or more reasonably then usual over here? When I come down I usually do. Because the other guy/gal may naturally carry a gun, and this would put me in an extremely disadvantaged position. At any time! So I let EVERYTHING slide, no matter what it is, within reason. Better be safe then... well... dead. You never know how screwed the other party is...
