Hey all, I just placed an order on www.paintscratch.com for a spray can of color matched paint to do the eyelids for my MSP.

For those that arent aware of it, this site has paint to match any year/make protege and it can be purchased in many ways (paint pen, spray can, etc..)

I purchased a 12.5 oz can of Paint and a 12.5 oz can of clearcoat for about $46 shipped.

I also found this while searching the web for a promo code (which I usually do when ordering things online). When placing an order on their site enter this code: 8RAV@02 in the Promo code spot to get a automatic $2.50 off.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up and save you a few dollars.

thats funny, i just got my paint pens, silver and clear from them yesterday.
i havent tried them out yet to determine the color matching ( i dont expect much since i have had paint done before) but they were pretty quick in delivery and service.

got my shipment from them last night and got my eyelids painted. Paint matches superbly and even looks great coming out of a rattle can.

Anyone think its possible to repaint a dgm lip? It's already painted but i have a million paint chips and i would like to re-paint it but i've got quoted 200 bucks to re-paint. If i did it myself, what would i need to do as far as prep and paint?

it would probably be best to sand it down, re-primer it and paint and clearcoat...if you did it w/ spray paint cans it might come out ok but that is a larger peice.

Which grit of sand paper should i use? I might try this out for the hell of it. I have my stock lip on, so i have time make this a project. We'll see.

probably a 220 or 320 to get it all sanded out then primer. They have instructions on what sandpaper is best :D

(2thumbs) You're right. I was just checking out the site. They offer a package of different grits of sandpaper. Thanks for the help.

n/p

when ordering the sandpaper tho...it comes in like 6inch x 6inch squares...so you'll want a bit more lol

that looks great! Do you know if I can save a fading cf hood if I sand down and buy a clearcoat from there?

you could save the hood, i did!!!! just make sure the clear has uv protection in it.

Thats some pretty neat stuff. So the flakes are already mixed into the paint or is that a separate thing?

the metal flake is already in the can...I have a close up pic,ill post it later

I used 3M "ventshade" double sided tape from Autozone. Best stuff to use. And I put the tape on the back of the eyelids first (on the top and behind the actual eyelid and then stuck it onto the headlight carefully.

Hey Evil, how have you got your eyelids attached ? Double sided tape I assume ? What kind did you use ? And where do you actually tape them on, on the inside of the top of the eyelid ? On the inside of the front ? Both ?

Thx
