Painting/Replacing side mirrors

Is there any way to remove the painted part of the side mirror and put it on a replacement mirror? I just broke my passenger side mirror last night and I'm looking for a replacement, but I would rather not have to go through the hassle of painting it if I can just take the plastic from the existing mirror and change it over to the new one.

the mirror will pop off the adjuster screws, then you have easy access to pop off the colored part. easy-cheesey.

You can just pull the colored piece off...no need to take off mirror...

A deer ripped off mine for me, but it popped right back on. The mirror and plastic painted cover are clipped in.

be careful that you dont crack or scratch the colored piece upon removal
