Decided to add a "custom" decal instead of the ever popular "Mazdaspeed"

I'm very pleased with how they turned out.

My name is Drew by the way.

lol very nice. i am glad you cleared up that whole your name being drew thing. i was really lost there

Question: Is this hard to do? How many hours, I know patience is the key when you paint stuff. Also where did you get the paint kit from? Thanks

"Take a look at my painted calipers!"

"I can't see them your wheels are in the way..." (Awesome job otherwise)

How did you paint these and what paint?

Took about an hour, although most of that is jacking up the car, taking the wheels off, and all that garbage. I only have two jack stands, so I could only do one end of the car at a time.

I just purchased Duplicolor brand black caliper paint. Got it at autozone. First I cleaned off the calipers using dish soap and a brush (dish soap is made to cut through grease and grime, so it works well). After that dried, tapped off and sprayed. This stuff went on pretty thick so one coat was all that was needed.

I got the "drewspeed" decals from http://www.vinzdecals.com/
You can choose the text you want. Since my name is Drew, I decided to go a different route and get that.

It's a good cheap mod that you can do in an hour. Total I spent probably $30.

What Hankook tires are you running? are they all seasons and how do you like them??

Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110. They are brand new to the market as far as I can tell.

The store I purchased them from had them listed as max performance all season tires, but then some websites will say they are summer tires and others will say they are all season. Regardless, I love these wheels. On dry pavement, they grip as good if not better than the stock Potenzas. And they perform pretty well in the snow. We just got a lot of snow/ice here recently and they never gave me a problem. I'd highly recommend them.

i want those decals from vinzdecal but it wont let me check out. does anyone know what the mazdaspeed font is called? i guess ill have to get them made somewhere else.

Looks great. I hope the guy who buys your car in a few years when you upgrade to a 2015 Speed3 name is Drew also :P

I dunno. I have extra so we'll find out. Although they claim on their site that the decals wont.

If you clear coated over them, it shouldn't peel. I had mine on for the entire time I had my car and they were fine.
