P5 wing replacement?

Good luck trying to install the wing :D hope to see pics soon

I would go with the DG downforcers they look cool probably easier not to rub and its something different than all the proteges with lips just my opinion though.

I think both look nice!!! wish i had two P5s :D (maybe 1 P5 and 1 MSP)... anyways... IMO, the downforcers look pretty agressive, especially because it gives the front bumper a zig-zag look... if you look from the top of the car or from the corner... pretty agressive looking if you ask me... plus, it won't rub like crazy like the lip... but the lip.. :D
i love both... but i'll go with the downforcers... cuz it won't rub as easily...

ANYONE have pics of the downforcers with the bad-ass red lettering that says "DGM" or something like that? i have a pic of a black P5 with them in my computer at home...i'm at work now... so i'll post the pics later.

i was thinking the same...i want more than 1 piece of cf or fiberglass!!! trying to decide from the two:
1. DGM downforcers = thin and probably won't rub (probably because i lowered my car) and nice with red letters, cheaper
2. DGM fiberglass (or one from my buddy) = thicker (will most likely rub), very nice, but more expensive...

i'm leaning more towards the downforcers because they will most likey not rub... i'd hate to drive around draggin my front bumper.

i really want to put that damn wing on today... after work, i might drive around lookin for a shop... wish me luck!:D

does fiberglass have that "checkered" pattern like carbon fiber?
Don't flame me or else i won't show pics of this wing on my car :D ...hahaha:D

Fiberglass is plain. CF is the only material that has that "checker board look to it.

any progress?

when i went to the shop on monday (i think), the guys told me to "test-fit" it by taking off the factory wing by my self and just placing the cf wing on where i want it and eye-balling to see if the contact areas are good.....so.....i'm gonna try taking off the factory spoiler after work... and "test-fit" it... i'll let you guys know :D ... that wing has been in my car since the weekend:rolleyes: ....i gotta look at that beautiful thing everyday thinking it MIGHT not fit...:(
but i'll freakin make it fit!!! cuz i love it! :D
you guys know i'll keep u posted every step of the way...

yep, you pay for the brand. all those things on the familia s-wagon are mazdaspeed parts.

you have to pay through the nose and you can buy a lot of other parts for that cash but if you do get it you'll have some super rare stuff. more bragging rights =D

lets get that wing on! hope the test fit goes good, and if not you can always drill new holes into the cf wing.

600 for a wing thats mighty rich...
Its good looking but...

You could almost buy the DG CF hood or a lot of other stuff like CAI and exhaust etc..

removing the third brake light is definitly not illegal, that'd just be retarded...y'know i've always wondered though if you have a cf hood and since what i've heard about cf dictates that its not only lighter but stronger than the metal you're cars already made of then if you do a header into a wall or poll or whatever, well it crumple with the car or will it receed into the car and take your head off? i dunno, just a thought.

If the carbon fiber used on hoods is the same as what's used in racing cars, if would break into pieces, not crumple. F1 chassis/nose cones are VERY thick (about 1 inch) and are very strong and light, but wings and "hoods" are thin and break easily. I have yet to see a carbon fiber hood, they are not very common here where I live (we have bad winters), so I don't know how thick they are and how they are reinforced.

IMO...i think the one i have is smaller... but that's just my opinion :D ... i tried to take out the 4 nuts that hold the factory wing on, but damn... the bolts are like 2 inches long... i mean the bolt sits down about 2 inches from the top of the bolt (i hope that makes sense), anyways...i can't wait any longer!!! :D ... gotta put that wing on today!!!..i'll keep u posted when i get back from the shop!

... too early in the morning :D ...not thinking straight.. what i meant to say was... i could not reach the nuts that hold the factory wing on... so i was not able to test fit my cf wing... don't care now cuz i'm going to the shop in a few hours... wish me luck guys!

Would've fit...

Man... i waited for 1 hour for the owner to come... he was told me to go to the shop at 9:00.... of course i got there 5 minutes before.... can't wait man... u guys know how it is when gettin a new toy installed... anyways... they took of the factory wing and there were a lot of holes that needed to be filled (the trunk lid would have to be repainted), so... i was very sad... and brought back the wing...:( ... i was so lookin forward to gettin that wing on... anyways... sorry for the sad news...

on the bright side... i going out with this chick that i met a few days ago :D ... maybe she can brighten my day... but nothing beats modifying our proteges!!!:D

:(... take care ya'll

DawWwWM man, that sucks. try selling it to someone who would want to make the effort to do body work to their trunk? but that was a good try man. sorry to hear - chris
