I just got a flat on my 02-P5 and my front right tire has 10 times more wair on it then my front left. I only have 12,000 miles, no alignment problems ether, whats the deal?
your front right tire was probably losing air from a slow leak. a very slow leak. either that or you drove hard on the flattening tire for too long and it caused accelerated premature wear. it's a good rule of thumb to always check psi when you wash your car every week. doing so helps maintain fuel efficiency and even tire wear. also, have you rotated your tires since new? running for 12K miles on a tire that is 5psi under the rest of your tires will cause massive wear.
Your probrably right, i usually check my PSI when i wash my car and then refill them. But no i havnt rotated them which im gonna do first thing tom. I havnt washed my car in a few weeks so the leak probrably caught up to me. Do u know how much a new tire is gonna set me back and where i might be able to get one, besides the dealer.
Check with the dealer, the tires may be covered under warranty. Mine were, until I locked the brakes, flat-spotting the front. I just got 4 new Yokohamas, and they are a huge improvement. Got them online, dealer installed.
I managed to get a tire from DiscountTires or one of those places locally. It was a little more than ordering on-line but convenient. They had to order it, though.
yeah, get the tire reapaired! then go back to mazda complain that the tires are wearing unevenly ie implying a suspension problem like mixed up cambers
