P5 Exhaust Q&A

Please help. My wife and I are constantly trying to outdo each other. Now she wants to put a performance muffler on her '02 P5, but she doesn't want it to be loud like the one on my '03 P5. (She'd rather be seen than heard). Any suggestions?

I hear the greddy evo is fairly mild. By mild I mean it doesn't really drone on the freeway but it still makes a nice sound.

It also has a friggin huge birth canal/tip if she's looking for that kinda look.

As long as it fits in the bumper cutout I think she'll be happy. Thanks

if you can find a team moon exaust....they are super quiet....but decent sound when you lay on it

i have greddy evo exhaust it is deep sound inside, if i remember right it at 93db

i'm thinking of getting a hks hiper as well, i went back to stock canister and it just looks to gay after having it previously the mazda sport exhaust with the large tip. the noise factor was becoming unpractical (carpooling)

I don't know what the previous owner installed on my '03, but I love the way it sounds - and it does a great job of putting my son to sleep on short drives. I think my wife's gonna go with a silencer, maybe an HKS. Is anyone running a carbon fiber mufffleron their P5? How do you like it?

Could you post a picture of the back of your car so I can see how big the tip looks? My friend had an Evo catback and I remember how cool that was.

I have a magnaflow (cat-back, not just the muffler) and I love the sound of it. Now that I have a header and cat-less midpipe, it is sort of loud and almost a bit ricey, but this is not the magnaflow's fault. Highly recommended.

If you want quiet with a nice, deep sound, you can't beat a Racing Beat cat-back. If she can wait until spring, I may be getting rid of mine :D
