Am I just unlucky or what? For some odd reason I keep having to replace my front lower ball joints (Since this car has no upper) every 12,000 kilometers (About 7000 miles) I drive 5000 kilometers per year (not much) but the ball joints don't last, Why? Does anyone have a brand that they can recommend?

Mine just went bad around 150,000m

Originally ordered beck arnley through rock auto, but they sent out the completely wrong parts, and won't refund my expedited shipping until they receive the parts back. I haven't had a problem with them before, but their customer service was bad. Not something I want to deal with again, especially if it needs a warranty.guy on the phone literally said he was supervisor, manager, and spoke on behalf of the CEO. I don't have time for bulls***. I even sent pics with the parts they sent and they admitted they messed up. If it takes about a week to refund $16 on their mistake, how long for a warranty?

My car was jacked up, and I have newly pressed wheel bearings to install. But I digress...

I found Moog control arms each for under $70. Check amazon and others

Ignore the display pics. From everything I've read, Moog is incredibly well made and has a strong history.

Are you running wheels with a big offset or something? That is hard on all of the suspension parts.

What brand of control arms have you been using?

just wanted to say, i just had a very minor shipping issue with autopartswarehouse.com (really not entirely their fault, but the carrier) and they went above and beyond with their service...and they have free shipping for orders over $50.

not trying to shill. like i said, i used rock auto before and never had an issue, but this last order was incredibly bad service.

btw, its just 3 bolts to remove the control arms right? looks pretty straight forward, but im still a mechanical noob diyer

One bolt for the ball joint, two bolts on the subframe. Then the joint can be pressed out. OP: that is not right, they should not fail for a long time if you are using good quality parts and your suspension geometry is correct.

Running with stock wheels nothing special, Lower control arm (Ball joint) all in one piece, Brand installed Mevotech part number M576100

Mine are not the same as your pictures, Odd.

mevotech appear to be cheap and/or defective ones sold as new. as i saw them on amazon yesterday while shopping for control arms and they were also under a brand of autospares (mevotech) on the titles. i went with the dorman ones as the moog were not prime eligible and i need control arms and needed 2 day shipping so i can get everything by the day off of work i have to do it. (tie rods and a rack bellow as well) dorman makes quality products from my experience with them in the past. moog is oe brand control arms and tie rods and i went moog for my tie rods.
