P0402 Cel

I tried cleaning the valve twice for the P0402 code but it keeps coming back. Has anyone replaced the $250 valve and had it fixed?

Also, what's the sensor the rubber hose coming from the valve connects to on the 1.6 do? Could this be my problem?

Hi.
I just replaced my egr valve with a new OEM one thinking it would solve the dreaded P0402 code. The car ran without a DIL for like a week, but then came one again.

So, this is after I had the throttle body ports cleaned, the MAF sensor cleaned and the EGR valve replaced; the cel light is still on.

If anyone has any other ideas, I am open to suggestions.

I finally got the car from my daughter and used the attached TSB to fix the CEL. I had also replaced the EGR valve first but it was no help.

Get the Canadian EGR valve off of RockAuto.com for $110 and be done with it.
