For anyone in the MD area Jorge also goes down to IAG Performace in Westminster. He's been doing tunes for them for about 19 months now.
Im having my speed3 tuned there and got a chance to talk to Jorge a bit. He was one of the few that got to help Beta test Cobb's AP for the mazdaspeed3 when it first came out. He had a lot of nice things to say about the mazda and its potential, and how its a nice change for him to tune them from all the STIs that come in to IAG.
Unfortunately for me, during yesterdays tune, there was an issue with the latest firmware that was updated on friday from Cobb. when Jorge went to load a map onto my ECU it would not connect... and apparently the AP thought my car was a Cali car!
After a talk with Christian over at Cobb, they found that it was an issue they had just became aware of just a day or so ago (talk about bad timing)... Also to add to the problem Cobb is moving its office from UT to TX and their computers wont be up for a couple days....
so sadly I left the shop last night with no map on my comp (gonna have to drive it like a granny.. no boosting AT ALL) until they can get an update for the AP... AND Jorge is only at IAG for each last weekend of the month, so I wont get the tune finished till Feb. until then ill just get a OTS map after Cobb updates....
sigh.... but yeah Jorge is the s***... Highly recommend both IAG and Jorge for the VA, MD, southern PA folks!
