..... AND another note, I get some knock retartd about half of the times that I got WOT but it never registers more than 1.1
 
my MZR is still running well with minor knock retard. Im glad my car is running reliably and making good power because i dont plan on modding it anymore.

note: when going from a "cruise throttle position" to a "moderate throttle position" the AFR sometimes "hangs" on 16.2 on its(the AFR) way down to rich until i go WOT or get off the gas and reapply the throttle. I monitor for this to make sure i dont stay lean for too long. I think my EGR valve might be failing or sticking. Does anyone know if that could be a potential cause?

16.2 is definitely not a value that would be "tuned" into the fueling tables, so there is something happening there. If it were the egr, you would most likely have a dtc addressing the failure. Is your afr solid at idle? Timing advance solid at idle (9.5-10.5)? Have you had any system lean dtc's?
 
Can you borrow some sort of external wideband? LM-1, etc? If so, use it and corroborate what you're seeing. Rule out the O2 sensor first.
