Opinions on a Carbon Fiber Look..

The Water will have Zero...I said 0....Ill Effect on anything in the Engine BAy.

Period.

I Have had many open hood where water can get in and no problems....Nor anyone I have everknown with one to have a propblem either.
I had a WW on the MSP.... a Cervinis on my Civic and a Kaminari on my Del sol....Never a problem and I drove them in everything from the monsoon to the Great Blizzard.

Now also...Ask yourself this....
DO you think the engine bay stays dry when it rains?

No...No it doesnt....Not even close.

That is all.

Exactly. As I mentioned in my PM to Metallic36, I have ran one of our ZX2 hoods for 5 yrs now on my personal P5 (with MAM Thumper set up), and also without any splash guards at all, all year round. Never had even the slightest hint of a problem, and I too have driven through blizzards and rain glore. The whole idea of having a vent cover defeats the entire purpose of having the vents in the first place in our opinion!

I would have used the vent covers for when I'm at college and it's downpouring while I'm inside.. basically to keep the rain out while it's sitting. I don't like the idea of rain in my engine bay, if it does any damage or not.. sure it gets in there when it rains but it doesn't exactly make a waterfall over my MAM mani.. If anything I can probably make my own vent covers if it drives me crazy.. I know I'm just going to be cringing as I drive in the rain with the hood.

On another note, I'm trying to decide on one of the XC hoods. Seems to be the winner here ;)

My hood doesn't have the rubber seals that the stock hood has and I have a Injen CAI converted to a short, should I worry about too much water getting to the filter to give me a hydro locked?

I forgot about that.. I have a SRI. Guess I'll have to revamp a little.

I know PG has those waterproof covers for filters..

not sure if anyones posted this yet, but i have the VIS evo hood. everything is good except the spots for the windsheild washer nozzles. theres no place that they snap into so right now theyre just held in by the hoses until i can find a way to keep them down without damaging the hood.

all in all though i love it. it looks great and really airs out the engine bay well. when im sitting at a light its kinda cool to see all the heat coming out.

Yeah, it was a good tossup between the VIS and the XC hood, but I decided to go with the ZX2 hood from XC.

thats what i was gonna do but never got around to it. i'll do it when i put the hood back on after winter. how easily does it come off? i dont want to damage the hood or anything in the event i have to sell it or something
