One Of The Best Days Of My Life Has Turned Into One Of The Worse

I had a similar incident happen to me last year in my old escort wagon..I was at the gas station and you know how they have the pumps all lined up and you go with the flow of traffic and pull in behind someone to wait...so I'm sitting there and this woman to my left backs up from the pump she was at and stops like she see's me, turns her nose to the left and then backs up and T-boned me...I cursed and lost it in the car but when I got out I was reasonably calm lol...$1600 in damage, had to get a new door albeit from a junk yard because she broke the rocker panel, so I got a new door (to me) a new power mirror, and a new paint job ...

The EXACT same thing happened to me, but it was in my Miata. Same damage. Needed a new door and paint job, repair bill was $1550 :)

yeah well being that my insurance will skyrocket if shes not found 100% at fault, i just dont see it worth the risk. I have the money if we split it. It was going to be used to put an hd radio and a tint job for my p5 but i guess that will have to wait. Im also doing this for the relationship because at this point my girl has no control over the situation and i cant blame her anymore because her mom says it wasnt her fault.

NO IT WILL NOT.

Your insurance will only go up if you are at fault AND you file a claim. Reporting the accident will do nothing to your rates.

You NEED to report the accident ASAP.

Figure the situation out, and then decide whether to file a claim.

She will be found at fault if she was in the parking spot backing out and hit you. There is no possible way you can be found at fault, unless there is a part of the story you are leaving out.

"My girl has no control over the situation and i cant blame her anymore because her mom says it wasnt her fault"

Dude. SHE BACKED INTO YOU. It doesn't matter one bit what her mom says. Her mom wasn't the one driving the car. And what her mom says is not the end all, the final word. Unless you let it be.

You're letting her mother take charge of the situation and screw you over. Stand up for yourself. You shouldn't have to pay a single dime to get your car fixed. It's as simple as that. If you settle for anything less (i.e. paying for part of the repairs), excuse my bluntness, but you are a gullible fool who let someone take advantage of and walk all over you.

nah man what i mean is that it will be her moms word against mine because she claims she saw the whole thing. Which will proabably mean 50/50. And its not worth the risk to me to file a claim and then have my rates go up because it was found 50/50.

You're not understanding this at all. You can start the process by reporting the accident. If the insurance company finds that you were partially at fault, then you just not continue the claim and finish it outside of insurance (paying out of pocket).

Your rate only increases when the company actually PAYS OUT MONEY FOR A CLAIM.

You have nothing to lose by reporting the accident.

And if it happened as you explained, there is no way you can be found at fault. You even have witnesses of your own in your car! Her mom's word will do nothing.

BTW, how does her mom explain the accident to make it sound like it was your fault?

(I'm very curious...I can't think of any way the story can be twisted that way)

she wont tell me, she claims she saw it and i asked her what she saw and she told me she legally cant tell me.

She's playing you for a fool.

Don't let her take advantage of your lack of knowledge about how these things work.

my friend's gf got into a car accident with his car. pretty much totalled it. that was always an issue with them and they eventually broke up. you're 18, there are other chicks to date. break up with this chick and move on.

x2

This is how people like that work...money makes people rich and often but not all the time ignorant with the superpower of invinciability lol...but what it does NOT do is make them always right. Seriously stop dragging this out which maybe what her mother or parents want, so that the time limitation for reporting it (if there is one)? runs out and they are in the clear.

Soooo....

Step 1: Report Accident even if you do not still go to step #2!
Step 2: Contact insurance company... the only way your insurance might go up is if there is difficulty in determining who hit who but...if the dent is on your side but not the front end this means she hit you which...we all know because your car can't drive sideways and if it could I'd be concerned lol. So your insurance will NOT go up but her's will.
Step 3:Take pictures and if you go through the insurance company they
will take they're own pics as well.
Step 4: Let the insurance people deal with it...they are pretty prompt in contacting the other insurance company etc so you should know what's going on within a day or two. THEY will handle the parents.

LMAO! DUDE! She hates you. Fuckem and sue them for all they are worth. Hell take them to small claims court, that way you can get the 5k fix the car and boost it!

One day the Mom is going to get to the girl and one day the girl is going to dump you. Don't be a fool, get out now and get your door prize on the way out.

If you haven't done this already....listen to everybody and FILE THE CLAIM!!!! I too would like to see how her mom can twist the story into making it your fault.

so i got tired of reading all of this jibber jabber. heres my two cents: her family doesnt like you or else they would be willing to pay and they are filling your girlfriends head full of things. with this being done its going to turn your girlfriend against you and ruin your relationship. if she loved you she would have no problem helping you pay for it if not paying all of it. i know that if i accidently backed into alex's car i would jump out and and tape his mouth so he couldnt scream at me and hold him in my arms and apologize and tell him that i loved him and that i would pay every penny it took to get it repaired with an extra gift on the side to help mod his car. i would do whatever i had to do to get the money for it too, even if it meant a loan or a second job. i know how much alex cares about his car. he loves it. anyways, take it to insurance, ur rates wont go up. you must be young to not know anythign about this. reporting an accident does nothing unless the insurance company has to pay out of pocket once a claim is made. take pictures and be sure to get multiple estimates. grow some balls and stand up for yourself.

Wow, you're being taken for a ride - for what? Some girl? Screw her and her parents they are full of s***.

Odds are you won't be with her in the future anyway so why delay the inevitable? There are like 238,470,592,374 other females in the world, don't get stuck to this one snatch at such a young age you will regret it in the future. You don't have to believe me now, you'll see eventually.

Also, I'm not sure how insurance rules work in CA but parking lots are usually 'no fault' sorts of things, so it doesn't matter who did what, nobody will be pinned with fault. I believe that the way it is in VA.
