ONDERGROUND-DESIGN Offer body kit for 2002-03 protege

there are fog compartments... just hard to see since its black.. and there arent any actual lights in them in the pics ;) look in the area basically where ours are... right above the gaps on the bottom there are bigger rounder gaps for fog lights... and yes... suggestions would be better than put downs...
 
hehe sorry...i retract all of my previous statements...i agree, i've been on some other forums and this is the one forum i actually liked because the people were pretty cool...but then again people are inclined to their opinions...but yeah, i read over a lot of what i and others said and they are pretty harsh (a lot of it jokingly)...sorry i think it was the whole altezza/euro lights thread that pumped me up for this one...once you get started...man its hard to stop...don't be mad at me!!! :'(
 
hey guys/gals, why don't we just get the artist of the forum design out our ideas so these companies have a solid idea of what we want as far as body kits?............ i don't like the front bumper, i personally bought the car b/c of the looks so i don't want to go too far off the orginally look............after leaving the honda world and entering the mazda(outkast) side my appeal of bodykit had turn into more euro style like the bmw/vw/dtm looks rather then the rice-moblie style..................hey we all here to out stlye and run those honda/toyota ricemoblies!!!!
 
well onderground is a very good company- customer service wise. i've yet to hear about the quality b/c they are getting ready to ship the new mx-3(p5 replica). they decided to take on a project that no one else would and i respect that. hell, if you can get around 10 owners to decide on a g3 bumper, i'm sure onderground would be more than happy to fabricate it.

i'll lend my drawing and ps skills to the forum if you guys wanna tackle a project. my mx3 idea was the one that fueled the p5 bumper concept.
 
thanks for trying but i think you just made a kit that looks like every other honda kit out there. you know, the large mouth bass front end. would be nice on a rx7 with a big intercooler but not on our little cars.
 
Yeah. The fabrication quality looks decent. If they want to make a lot of people happy they could make the baby evo hood :)
 
or.. if they wanna give it a shot.... the kit that was in that concept picture that everyone is busting a nut on (including myself)... maybe fabricate that.. and then even create a modified version of the autoexe lip that might fit nicely onto that bumber ;)
 
man, a company was gonna make a kit for the protege, and knew of this forum, but didnt come here and ask for our input..............:(
 
I dont think we've gotten any meaner, there's just more of us here, and we're getting people who've been ghosting in the forum signing in to flame on a post, and then ducking out again (IS300).

Let's all keep it nice. I was a little angry myself with the initial response to the post. Here was someone putting out a product that they've spent some time on, and they get ripped.

And those initial loud voices of dissent may have discouraged people who liked the front from posting here, driving another retailer away from the thread who could have made modifications due to lack of positive feedback.

I didnt care for the design myself, but Onderground, if you'd like to come back, we'd welcome you here. We could use a good body shop here!!!!
 
If you get scared off by one persons comment, you must be a very weak individual. What I said was just my opinion, and obviously lots of other peoples opinions also. If you are a moderator and you don't like the way I responded, just delete it. My god, I won't cry, I am a little tougher than some I guess. In my earlier post, I never came out and said, "that looks like total s***, I hope you die for making it". All I said was that it looks like every other ricer honda body kit. Not super harsh words at all. Hell for all I know everyone else in the world likes this bumper and I am the only tasteless idiot on this forum. So be it, at least I'm not afraid to voice my opinion on something. People around here are becoming way too sensitive lately. Come down to Texas and I'll buy you a beer if I hurt your feelings with my statement. My god, toughen up people, or you will never make it in today's world.
 
ok.. first off... good point big ben.. i suppose ppl are kinda sensitive lately.. but its really just because we wanna try and keep it a nice happy helpful community around here... people shouldn't be assholes.. but people also shouldnt take some of the s*** on this board too seriously... i guess its one of those things where you have to find a happy medium.. but its difficult...

thats what i thought at first too.. but upon closer examination.. i think its just one of those half skirt just enough to tease the hell outta you type thingies... but you never know..

and look very very closely at the girl laying down kicking her legs... look at the knee caps... she has rotating legs!!! her left and right leg appear to "switch sides" every time she kicks.. lol... i guess they wanted to keep the animated gif down to a smaller size.. and use half as many frames as they would have had to

That is really great that someone took the time and effort to make something for our car. It's just bad that they decided on a design that have been out fot the last what, 5-6 years? They should have gone with something more recent or completely custom, something that would "fit" a bit more the lines of the Proteg.

It 's nice though to see a company getting into this that is just 2 hours from my place :) They are usually out there in California or something...
 
hey i just stumbled into this thread. and i gues it kinda got off track, what with the arguing and all. id just like to bring it back on topic and say that im sorry dudes who designed the kit. proteges arent hondas. why did you make it so damned big and agressive. it looks lame and stupid, and im sorry if that offends you, but what do you expect?
 
I saw that kit the first night this thread started. I almost posted something in here about it but I held off.

Personally I don't like the way it looks. I don't like the way any of those big child eater kits look. Whether it be on a RX-7, Supra, Civic, anything. I prefer subtle over grand.

I'd like to see a kit that modifies the front end of a MP3/Protege 5 a little more to look kind of the Super Touring cars bottom lip, with the little vents and stuff on the side.

I like the touring car look. Always have, always will. I fell in love with the A4 Super Touring Cars when they first hit the scene back the mid-90s.

But that is just MHO...For whatever that's worth.

I guess for Onderground, good effort, bad intiative...
