Oil Filter Relocation Kit

You'd have to take measurements of the oil filter to identify what you need. You can also try calling them for guidance. I'm sure other more popular Mazdas use the same filter as the 5.

If I remeber correctly, the 1113 kit fits the Miata.

Since you have an '09 with a canister filter, I'm interested if you still have an oil cooler like my '08 with a cartridge filter?

I'm new to the Mazda5 scene so forgive me for asking this question, why would you need to relocate the oil filter? And does this apply to both AT & MT ?

Yes it does apply to both MT and AT. The sole purpose for a oil filter relocation kit (correct me if I am wrong) is to convert the cartridge style oil filter to a regular spin on filters.

You answered your own question ;) Two different words, with very different meanings. Relocating is meant to make the filter body more accessible (has nothing to do with avoiding going under the car, folks just tend to put it up top while at it -why not). It can also make the change process a tad big cleaner b/c you have control on where you want to relocated it too.

Post below sort of touches on both, but mostly focusing on conversion for now. Actually plan on doing this tomorrow if timing permits as I am due for my oil change. Keep in mind I have an '08 and do not know exactly when Mazda went back to canister filters. Consensus seem to say 2009 and up.

I like the preassembled kit from TD Performance, but I do not know which one will fit, any ideas?
The Mazda oil filter thread size is 3/4 -16 so the 1113 kit should work. You still need to double checked where you want to mount it and if the supplied hose is long enough.
