The j pipe was completely trashed. Flange was cracked, rusted out, everything. Just to get a new j pipe and have it installed was $205. For that price I coulda got a header that eliminated the stock exhaust mani, pre cat, and j-pipe. It woulda connected to the second cat

The Cali guys will pay a good price for a well working pre-cat. Since they have all the emissions restrictions and stuff. That's what I did with mine. It sat in my garage for 2 years then I sold and shipped it to a cat with a stock P5 who had trouble passing emissions. And he passed with my old one.

Which reminds me, I have to register my catless P5 to my GF's house... farking E-check...

or just swap the stock one off and on once a year. haven't done the install myself but ive done headers on multiple cars and this doesn't look too bad. single header and right up front.

Good point, Belo. But here in Ohio, I passed just fine without the pre-cat and an OEM cat in the midpipe. I'm swapped now so I'm not messing with my exhaust.

Jordan, I think I've got an extra non-fouler already drilled in my toolbox I can bring to Mid-Ohio for you, no worries.

find a local exhaust shop to make you one.. The ebay ones used to be all over the place but they dont appear to be listed anymore.

I bought one awhile ago and love it fitment is great looks just like a sls one.

Running Magnaflow CB and resonator, single Imco cat, 4-2-1 header.
Deep, mellow, no rice, no rasp, no fart can racket, no drone.
Lightly noticeable when cruising at speed.
Passes inspection with no problem.
Purrfect...

Could you post a sound clip please I am very interested in what you have installed, if you can post part numbers aswell that would be great

Hey guys, i'm lookin to do a custom type catback this christmas. I was thinkin a DC sports muffler with a magnaflow glasspack in place of the resonator. I want to keep the deep tone, no ricey rasp. How do you think it would sound. altogether the two mufflers would be about $75 with a welding fee of about $50. just wanna know whatcha guyz think.

Go for it and try it out! Can't go wrong with being different. Make sure you decide on a glass pack length. The longer it is the less raspy and ricey
