Official 2026 Mazda CX-5 Pics and Details Released

I hope this new version steals more than a few RAV4 customers away from Toyota with its larger interior capacity and widescreen monitor. Mazda has obviously targeted them at the expense of those of us looking for a more upscale interior feel and higher performance. In a few years when the inevitable teething issues likely on the new Hybrids get sorted out Mazda can also upgrade the interior materials to recapture that lost performance market.

And where did that number come from? Most everything I've seen is in the mid-8s.

I'm wondering the same. The weight difference between the new model and the outgoing model is less than 200 lbs.

I do recall seeing a quoted 0-60 time of over 10s, but that was for an EU spec 2026 CX-5 with less power.

Mazda does too good of a job making cars look good and sporty to make them slow. It just doesn't work for the brand.

Well, adding 200lbs to the car without increasing the power is a good way to slow it down....

Have any of the usual testers done a real 0-60 time? I don't see an official test result from C&D, MT, or R&T. I am expecting it to be mid to high 8's with the extra weight. The video above said the car was tested at 4100ft altitude, so power was down significantly from sea level.

I can’t explain this, but… the virtual/digital speedometer isn’t a big deal to me, but losing the actual tachometer gauge seems to have killed another piece of this car's soul.

The tach isn’t a real gauge anymore.
It’s an image on a screen.
and worse yet not even a round traditional shaped one..I like seeing my tach and speedo needles having a sweep across the dial..probably because I started driving a long time ago :) that digital tach and speedo would bug me...but without a turbo or at least more than 186hp I guess it won't matter as not interested in one..
