Pretty easy installation, comes with official Mazda instructions and you only loose the rear cupholder and small section forward of it.
Top portion pops open to reveal small storage space and what looks like slots for CD discs (?). Pelikan model.

Looks nice Barry but losing the cupholders would be annoying to me. From that pics it looks like you lose the use of both front holders as well.

The armrest flips up into a vertical stowed position, so I can still use the front cup holders when I need them. (should have mentioned that earlier)

When I bought my car in March the dealer said the arms rest wasn't available yet. I guess I need to make a trip back there. Losing the back cupholder isn't too big of a deal, I'd rather be comfortable on long drives than make a back seat passenger more comfortable anyways.(evil)

I was just typing that question and thought, "I better scroll up first." Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be dropping hints to my wife about a birthday gift.

I paid $114 +$16 shipping (US)....it took about 30 minutes and that was at a slooow pace. Easy installation but you need a drill with 5/16" bit, 10mm socket & ratchet and phillips screwdriver.. that's it.

That helps. Cheers!

Would you mind posting a pic of the armrest in the vertical position? Thanks in advance :)

Thank you sir....it shall be dealt on the bargaining table today at the dealership. ;-)

Thanks again got the armrest ordered when I just bought my 2, they will mail it to me in a couple days.

Omg armrest feels so perfect its exactly right where you would want it to be...does get in way of pulling parking brake all the way up though

its sturdy, im 250lbs and I lean on it all the time. Its right where it should be heightwise. It is mounted with a metal plate that mounts to an existing metal plate so its just like it would be from factory minus the back seat loses their cup holder.

Hey, I have one question regarding the installation of the armrest; did you have to remove any of the front seats while doing it or any other part? Thanks

Nope...you have to pull the console up, unbolt a couple bolts, bolt a new bracket in one of the holes, take the console, set the armrest on it, mark 4 holes, take it back apart, drill the holes, bolt everything back up and then put screws in the holes you drilled (which go into that bracket you installed) through the console.
