OE Tyres on UK Spec Mazda 3 Diesel

I want to enter UK Speed Championship Hillclimb and Sprint events in class 1, which requires car to have standard road-going tyres listed in the MSA Blue Book on List 1A. My car has its original Yokohama A349 tyres, which are not listed, and I'm told by a tyre dealer that it's because they are OE tyres. But surely that just means Original Equipment, that is they are correct for that car. Why should that prevent them from being approved for use in motor sport?
