Not Hot Heat

Now that it's getting colder out, I've actually turned on my heater. I bought my 2002 in May, so I never had to before. The problem is, it isn't very hot. It feels slightly warmer than room temperature, but no way enough for winter.

Any ideas on what to check before I call up a dealer?

you must have somthing wrong. check your radiator fluid level.

It should be hot... mine roasts my toes off!

Make sure you have the air to recicle. If not, you will have cold air mixed with the warm.

make sure your heat dial is turned to hot. it's the red side. not to sound condescending, but when it got cold and i wanted to turn on my heater, i accidentally left it on the cold side and was wondering why my heater was blowing almost warm air. stupid me.

Well, I checked everything and found nothing wrong. The car was plenty warm (30 mins on the highway), set to 'red', and not on recirculate. Radiator levels looked good. I even checked all the fuses to see if any had blown.

Not sure what else it may be.

Yeah, it is still under warranty, I just don't feel like being chained in the lobby of a dealership all day waiting 6 hours before they take the 20 minutes to look at it. Dealerships are worse than doctors or dentists when it comes to getting you taken care of.

Tell them you want a rental for the day. if you call the service dept and speak with a manager before you come down, he will tell you if they have one available. I have gotten one while i was getting my oil changed so i know they will do it.
(laugh) i love dogging out the dealership cars!!!!
