noise problem/lowering MP3

ok, in the last 24 hours there has started to develop sounds underneath my car when I hit any bumps in the road. It sounds like something is loose. Its a squeak noise. And when I got home I pressed down real hard on each quarterpanel and when I press down on the car and let go on the rear driver side I get a squeak when it comes up as if it was a 20 year old car. Are the shocks going out on it or something? I'm already at 75,000 miles. Do my shocks and springs need to be replaced?
And if so, I was wandering, what all would I need to replace to lower my car? I've already seriously been thinking of lowering my mp3 an inch or 2 maybe. I don't like how high the mp3 sits. So If my shocks are the problem would this be a good time to lower my car?
Also, what would be a good idea on lowering a car? How much should I lower it (I'm keeping the racingheart 17" rims)? Does anyone have good pics of lowered mp3s?

I have a pretty bad squeeking noise when I go over a bump or something. When it's cold it is worse. I sprayed wd40 on the rear bushings and it gets better for a few days.

Same problem here in VA. I asked some people about it and everyone is having that problem because the metal in the springs is so damn cold that it doesn't flex as much as it did in warmer temperatures. If you notice carefully your ride has probably stiffened a bit since then too. Don't worry about it and hope for warmer air in Texas!

so even though it sounds as if my mp3 is about to fall apart, i shouldn't worry about it, its just normal for an mp3 christmas?

can someone tell me if they can tell if these are the 156E bushings?

WD40 is a water displacer hence WD and not intended to provide real strong lubrication. it has light weight oil in it and fixes a lot of problems immediately but it doesn't last. get some high quality sillicone grease

I am having the same thing happen with mine, but also I am having more of a metal sound up front when I hit a bump. Do not know what that is. But the rear end sounds just like what you are saying. I am going to take mine to the shop since it is still under warr. I will let you know what they do!

Chris:

I am having similar sounds in the front of my car when I go over bumps. It is coming from the left front and it sounds like the strut is loose or something around there. When are you bringing it to the dealer? I have a app. for 12/23/04 @ 8:30. And if you are at the dealer before me I would like to know what the problem with your car was, and if they give you any problem fixing it. I am soo glad I purchased the extended warr from Mazda when I bought my car(5 yr 75k)
Here it is 3 years later with a shade under 32k and the suspension sounds like a 20yr old car with over 100k on it.
Lets all see what happens
Thanks,
Pete

You get to take yours in before me. I think I am going to have to wait until Jan. to take mine it. The front noise is coming from the front right for me( looking from driving view)
Let me know.

hey just wondering but does the sound sound like metal hiting metal when u go over a bump? or does it sound like something else, but i did have the same sound i think mine came from the front driver side. Everytime i hit a bump or when over almost anything even in turns, the noise would start, also when i start to acclerate and sometimes while shifting gears, but i found that the control arm underneath the driver front wheel was really really loose so i just tightened it all the way and about 1/2 a turn (not tring to break the head of the nut) after that the noise was gone! But still have the squeaking from the front bushing and it wont go away :'(

Well my car has been @ the dealer since Thursday. They are replacing the control arm and a bunch of other things where I said it was klunking and banging on the left front. And I thank god I purchased the extended warranty when I bought my MP3 new in '01. All the work is only gonna cost me $50 when she is ready on Tuesday morning-instead of the $$$ it would have been. I will list the parts replaced by Mazda when I get my car back. And then my MP3 will go right to the body shop to fix my little dent on the door, minor sratches as well. The car will be good as new when I finally get her back.
Merry Christmas....(to my MP3)

Got my MP3 fixed... Heres what they replaced:

Just as I stated above I will list all of the items that mazda replaced under the extended warranty I have. I would first like to say that Great Neck Mazda is a kickass dealership, they are extremely nice(cool) . My car is not making anymore sounds from the front end, or rear for that matter.

Replaced:
b28v-34-350b:lower left control arm
lc62-34-170b: control rod, 12 inches
b26r-28-170: control link-stab
bn7h-28-156e: stabilizer bushing, left rear
bn7h-34-156a: stabilizer bushing(x2)- front
9994-01-000: flange nut(x4)

All of this would have cost plenty of $$$ if I did not have the extended warranty. So I just had to pay the deductable $50.00. If anyone has the chance and the money to purchase the extended warranty- do so.

My car is now @ the body shop getting the rear door fixed, scratches on the rear bumper and my M3 mirrors painted(finally). My MP3 will be as good as new when I get her back(headbang) .
