No More Feminine Horn!

Thank god....I finally went to autozone and bought a "low pitch" horn to replace the feminine little high pitched one that came stock. ........It only cost me $16 and it was really easy to install...just had to unscrew the old and unplug it, then screw in the new one in the same spot and plug the new one in to the same connecter the old one used....and it sounds normal now! Although it did say it's supposed to be the sound of a loud truck horn at 130 decibels...and it just sounds like a normal horn now...normal volume. Oh well....

Now I want to get a second horn to put on a switch that will be a fun horn (awoooga or other sound hehe).

Congrats! I got horns put in as well. Mine are GM sounding but I don't care; I wanted something loud and nasty. The horns were too big for the stock horn, so I just left the stock in its place and bolted the two horns under the bumper, facing down. Damn things are LOUD! If I'm pissed, someone's gonna know it.

Viper: any way you can give us a part number? I've been looking for something to replace the stock unit, but I would like it to go in the stock location. What you've got sounds like what I'm looking for.

Just open your hood and see what the stock horn looks like, then go to an autoparts store like autozone or pep boys. They will have at least 4 different pitched horns that look similar in size to the stock one. If you still need a part number, I can look it up, but they are very easy to find at a local auto parts store, and very easy to install.

Thanks!

I want to get a train horn on mine. Those are badass and on a little car, hell yes!
Go back on the dose, and contact your doctor.

Matt, quit teasing us regading those "pressing matters" :D

To be honest, I can't believe I waited so long to do this. I didn't realize how easy it would be. It took me 10 minutes max in the autozone parking lot to do right after I bought it....10 minutes and $16 later (they had some $10 ones too) my car feels more manly than it ever has before!

What's the bolt that holds the stock horn in place? If I recall, thats what prevented me from putting on my Fram air horn, simply because I didn't have a socket that would fit.

It's a 10mm bolt, behind the grille.

I got mine at AutoZone, but it only cost me $12.99 :) It is made by Blazer International, Part# BH102LC (Low Tone).

On the way back from one of our local meets, I got cut off by a woman in a Mitsubishi Montero Sport. I hit the horn, but I honestly don't think she heard me. So I figure I needed to go louder and more obnoxious so when people piss me off, they know it. Plus it just sounds nice when I'm leaving the car and hit the lock twice and get greeted with a loud horn instead of a wimpy horn. And damn the panic button sounds freakin' noisy!

Dude, the compressor for train horns would take up your entire hatch area. I just want me a little Kenworth truck horn. That woud be insane.

How about some Cessna landing lights for fog lights as well. Then people will be able to see and hear you 2 miles away.
