Mazda customer support just told me that they have had absolutly no complaint of either a squeeking or clunk on the MP3s. Of coarse many of us have complianed to our dealers and to Mazda about it. I advise everyone to call 18002225500 ASAP and say you know for a fact that people have complianded including Craig. I talked to
Michelle at extension 1170. she told me irt was now a compliant becuase of my call only.
We all realy need to assult these assholes with calls.

They said the same thing at Mazda Canada...they are soooo full of s***..but the last time I spoke to this nice woman there...she called me back after having a conference call with MAZDA USA and they confirmed that there was a problem...You want an AMAZING SUGGESTION THAT WILL WORK...Tell them to call the internal TECHNICAL HOTLINE!!! Any kind of flags towards problems always get sent to the Technical Hotline...I got this info last week when I totally lost it with STUPID MAZDA...Hopefully that will help u...

Samething here. I've spoken to a few Mazda Salesman and service tech at different dealerships and they claim that they haven't heard anything either. Bunch of butt nuggets. hehe

cALL mAZDA DIRECTLY AT 1-800-222-5500, If the complaint isn't made with the customer service people at this number they ignore it. I talked to michelle at ext. 1170. call her and if she says she hasn't heard of it she is full of s***.

So my dealer refuses to even research at all. thus I just placed a call to michelle to log a complaint regarding the bushings. Left a message, now we'll cross our fingers.

you guys know i will call
i'm not putting up with somebody s*** from mazda. they will know of this trust me

I just talked to Michelle. She was very cool and very nice. She acknowledged that she has heard from a couple MP3 people. I logged the complaint for the books and we'll see where it leads us. Of course right now in PA it was almost 70 degrees today...car sounds great, no noises at all.
Thanks Michelle.
:D

Hi All,

I just talked to Michelle too. She was very nice and told me that sje had only spoken to one other person about this today. She told me she would send an "FYI" memo to my local dealer and that they would then be expecting me to call to make an appointment to have the issue addressed.

She also told me that I would have to be able to recreate the problem so that they would be able to try to fix it.

It would be nice to have it fixed, but I really don't want someone just poking around and screwing stuff up more. Did someone say they had the bushings replaced and the clunking went away?

that would be me... :o)..I changed them about a week ago if not longer...and I haven't heard one squeak or clunk...but I am sure the squeak will come back when it's cold...but no more CLUNKING!!!!!!!!! :o)

I changed my bushings with the new part # a week ago too.... no more clunking but the sqeuak is still here when the weather is cold.

I got my bushings replaced last friday...if that is what you all are talking about.....Try calling the courtsey mazda in Las Vegas because they have already fixed two of them and know exactly what the problem is....Maybe someone from there will beable to explain to your dealership what is wrong and needs to be done...I cant remember the phone # off the top of my head...call information....If you get through ask for Dan Blount in service at Mazda.....

I think that the new bushings are a fix for the clunking. The new bushings part number is: # BN7H-28-156C
My dealer ordered mine, so I will probably get them replaced sometime next week. ;)

My dealer replaced the bushings and links. email me at mzdamp3@aol.com if you want the part numbers. absolutely no clunking and only minimal squeaks when it's cold.

I have pursued this extensively, and I finally got my bushings replaced a couple of weeks ago. The clunk has been gone ever since. If you really want to know exactly what it is- look at the sway bar from the rear of the car. You will see a set of links in the center that connect the bar to the frame. That is why the noise is so audible... the bushings wear out and the vibration passes into the frame, giving you the loud clunk every time you drive over an uneven surface. An easy way to recreate the sound is to open the rear door and rock the car. You'll hear it. Me and a friend pulled my car over a service pit in order to really pinpoint the problem. When we rocked the car we discovered that it was the links in the center. I originally thought it was the end links where the sway bar connects to the control arms, but lo and behold it is the ones in the center.
Hope this helps!

My dealer just replace my bushings today and guess what....NO MORE FFFF"""CLUNK!!! The part number is BN7H-28-156C...

For those who have had the bushings replaced:

Have you noticed any deterioration in handling performance? Are the bushings softer than the original ones?

Thanks in advance!
