do you thin'k it's a good Idea to run nitrous on a 1.6? I know this motor is stronger than the 2.0. I am not going to be getting the turbo for some time cause I am going to finish the outside/inside of the car first, but I want a little extra speed.

do you think it's possible to do it safely?

not with stock everything...... u'd need engine managment with injectors to keep up with the demand of nawz

yes, its possible. nitrous is not cheap though- $4.50lb usually or so

you'd want to get a wet kit.

i think nitrous is bad if used as the only power adder. just my .02

so what would you recommend doing with the nitrous?

personally, i'd save the money and put it towards a turbo kit. you'll be well on your way.

Pat is right, to run a correct nitrous set-up your looking to spend close to 1000$. That can make a good dent in a turbo system. Save your money.

yeah cause you would have to invest in the kit, fuel management and a fuel pump to pump more fuel.. then u have to look at changeing ur spark plugs to suit nitrous... so hard to do that... lol.. i would turbo first then get a nitrous kit for the intercooler cooler..

You should have fuel mangement for nitrous, but the same is true for turbo, so the money for an EMS would technically still be going towards the turbo kit.

J/P hopefully you do so I can race you and beat you with my little 1.6T

My 1.6 has a header / CAI / 2.25 exhaust / ngk ignition leads and a 1:1.7 fuel regulator (sitting in the garage)........is that enough to support nitrous?

I would love the hiboost kit but costwise its over $8000 AUD to buy, ship, taxes/customs, then install..... compared to less than $2000 AUD for NO2.
the NO2 kit could simply be removed from the car if I decide to sell it and put it into another vehicle.

Is there any reason a correct mild NO2 setup wouldnt be a good idea because i am seriously considering it...
there seems to be a wave of paranoia around NO2 on P5 & MP3s but is this justified or even tested on the 1.6? any help?
