NIteShades

I've had a lot of requests to post some pics of my tail lamps in daytime and at night and I'm finally doing it. The car came with tinted tails and I'm assuming it was done with Nightshades. I would never go back to running the red tails. I think they look terrible with the Spicy Orange.

Those look really good!

That looks really nice. Does it affect the light output much?? And is stuff like this normally legal?? I don't know anything about it, thought i'd ask, lol.

As you can see in my blurry night pic, the light output is almost unchanged. I've never gotten any comments from the po-po's or anyone else who would care about that kind of thing.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who thought it was an improvement over the red tails. When I first got the car I posted a couple of pics of it on here and peeps didn't like the smoked tails on the spicy orange. I thought they were nuts!

the niteshades doesn't affect light output in the dark but durring the day it does. especially when the sun is towards your back it is hard to see if your braking from the taillights, but then again we have a third light.

A friend of mine put that dark spray tint on his headlights. It looked good during the day but you could easily tell it was sprayed on when his headlights were turned on at night. It wasn't so bad that passing traffic could notice it, but if you saw the car parked you could see thick and thin spots all in the paint......it looked cheap as hell. IDK if he did a bad job painting or its just the nature of that stuff

Yeah, I've seen some hack jobs that looked like that too. Luckily the previous owner of my car took his time and did it right. Perfectly even. He evidently removed the tailights to do it, because there's one tiny drip on one edge that indicates that the tails were sitting horizontal when sprayed.

If you did not want tot use this method is there another way to get the somked tailights. Can you get them tinted at a window tint shop or does Rockblocker have anything.

I used the JDM tail tint...not sure the exact name of it but its the one on ebay with all the Kanji on the can. This is about 10 coats of it on the tails and the sidemarkers....

if i remember right it was nightshades.........

btw if u tint your sidemarkers they tend to melt the plastic........... just fyi

honestly my windows are so dark the reverse lights dont matter anyway, but i dont back up that much so in my case it does not matter.................. i think it would look weird w/only the reverse light not tinted!!

BE WARNED..............i have received a 101 dollar ticket with the threat of my car being inpounded for my tail lights being tinted............. it was a anal cop but still.........
