Issues Stacking Up

Hey all,

New here, so I'll introduce myself. I leased a 2023 CX-30 Turbo Premium back in August of '23. I love this car. Really practical and well optioned. I love how it drives. My only functional gripe is the back seat size, but I don't use it a ton.

I'm considering buying this thing at the end of the lease, but I have had near constant issues with minor things. I have had to replace both headlights due to the known buzzing issue and water intrusion. Both front turn signals due to water. Both rear reverse lights, tail lights, and third brake light, again for water intrusion. Every piece of black trim on the drivers side door pillars cracked and had to be replaced. The roof rack was completely replaced due to the holes for the covers being oversized.

Now the passenger side door pillar trims are starting to crack, and the leather on the steering wheel is cracking and delaminating. In addition to this, the drivers door creaks when driving over speed bumps, and I noticed RUST BUBBLES in the passenger door jamb.

I know the headlights going bad and soft paint are a couple of known issues, but I've had this thing in the shop near constantly since owning it. Mazda has been great, and I haven't had to pay for any of this stuff under warranty, but I dont want to get stuck with big bills once this expires. Am I the only one experiencing this stuff? Has anyone else had any of these issues?

Thanks for any advice.

With all those problems I would unload it quick.
Since it was introduced around 2020 all the bugs should of been worked out by 2023.
If you really like it lease a new or newer one.

I don't normally check this forum but the heading caught my eye. What country was it built in and I wonder what countries the parts were sourced from. My 2014 CX-5 (like all CX-5's ) was built in Japan with 90% Japanese content parts and has none of the issues you mention. Beyond materials degrading and design issues there's also the build quality/QC aspect. This just seems so out of place for overall Mazda quality.

Yeah this is something I've considered too. This one is one of the units built in Mexico, though most of the ones in my neck of the woods (Northeastern US) are from there as well. I've spoken to several service techs around here at various dealers and all are bewildered by my list of issues. Not at all common according to them, apart from the known headlight issues.
