Sorry if this has been asked before..! Planning to upgrade the audio of my dad's Mazda. I must admit that I am totally a noob when its come to car audio. I need your help all the way to perform this task. There are tons of various speakers and head units are available in the market to choose from, but it can be a daunting task to pick up the best one. I also found some nice deals on top brands at http://www.dealrocker.com and http://www.nextag.com. Well, I don't wanna anything extremely loud with a lot of bass; I would prefers a good sound quality.

Any recommendations and suggestions are welcome.

Your questions are very vague and unlikely to get the types of response you may be looking for.

I suggest reading the sticky threads. They have a lot of info. Then you can ask more specific questions.

It is my personal opinion that you'll hear the difference between stock and not....but it's considerably more difficult to hear the difference between Sony, Pioneer, Infinity, even Bose. Lots of it is just mental I think...i.e. the difference between running barefoot, Nike, and Adidas. You'll notice you have shoes on, but which brand? who cares.

Buy a head unit based on the features you like. The specifications on them are all widely exaggerated and not worth fixating on.
Go with a reputable brand.
Head units fail more then any other peice of car electronics so be damn sure you are getting a factory warranty from where you buy. Often online shopping means no warranty.
