"New" used Mazda? Help!

Hi

I'm looking to purchase a used Mazda car. I have the money ready(budget) but can't decide on which one to get. I'm thinking either the 2003 Mazda Protege ES, the 2003 Mazda Protege 5 or the 2004 Mazda 6. Of course all of them full equipped.
I currently have a 2002 Mazda Protege LX (not full equipped), and had it for about 4 years. I'm not 100% satisfied with it because I'm looking for something more ''edgy''. Which of all three Mazda's listed above have the best review?
I need something with a just a tad more speed the my current basic LX.
Please help me guys...

If you aren't satisfied with the LX you won't be with an ES or 5 either, they are still the same car. Go test drive a 6 and a 3 and see how you like them. I'd throw in a test drive of a civic as well. Maybe a MazdaSpeed Protege, but I would guess a lot of them have been abused by now.
