love the rack. I've been thinking of having one installed so I can throw my downhill rig up there. What did it cost you? Did they drill any holes? Any input would be widely appreciated...

I have the Yakima setup with the sprocket rocket fork mount rack. No holes need to be drilled, you simply order your vehicle specific Q towers, crossbars, wind deflector (if you want one), lock cores, and rack system and you are good to go. Yakima has a fitment guide on their webpage to help you out. I paid around $650 for my one bike setup and that was after shopping around. It was expensive, but I got what I wanted and didn't want to lose my $3300 bike.

I found one on the Yakima site, I think the same as this, with a wheel mount for $475. What kind of bike do you have? Be specific, I am a huge bike nerd...lol. I have an '04 specialized demo 9. Bought it and powder coated it lime green, and it's got 100% new components, rebuilt rear end, mavic wheels, marzocchi 888, Rocco WC, SRAM x-9's, avid juicy 7's, sun ringle hubs...the list goes on and on...haha. I'll see if I can get a picture later

Right now I have a 07 gary fisher hi-fi pro. Nearly everything is upgraded. the specifics I remember are, slx crank, xtr front and rear derailleur, juicy 5's, thompson stem and seat post, carbon monkey bars, and rythum comp wheels. I have a pic, but it won't load for some reason. If I ever get stationed out west, I will get a more aggressive all mountain. Glad to see there are some more mountain bikers on here!

I went with the fork mount for stability, but to each his own.
