I've long been a fan of AST shocks, and have used them on all of my competition vehicles.
When I was autocrossing my Mazda 2, they found a way to adapt the rears from a BMW application to fit, but there was no front strut available.
I just found out that they now have a regular production fitment for the Mazda 2 !!
This is a 4100 series, single-adjust shock with the trick double digressive Grand Am pistons. This gives you plenty of compression damping when you need it, w/o being too harsh for street use. The rebound adjustment range is HUGE.
They are $2000 for the set of four, which isn't cheap, but they are high quality parts as run by the cars in the Grand Am Continental Challenge road racing series.
Anyways, just wanted to let folks know that there is a new option on the table.
Here is their web site and contact info for a direct purchase: AST-USA
