I just installed the MTX Audio T4508-04 8 inch sub in the stock location. Install was a pain in the butt until I figured out that I didn't have to take all the screws off the deck. Anyway it thumps 75% harder than the stock sub, and is 4ohms. Give it a try. Its awesome!

I went to this car audio place today to get a RF Stage 2 4 or 8 ohm. I only paid 60 bucks and it makes a world of a difference on bass, but you can tell it needs a box damn rattles lol.

You might try taking out the sub, and place some padded tape between the sub and the box. Or, another guy here stuffed some foam in the box, which he said helped alot.

hell, I simply replaced the crappy original Kenwood with the updated version(cause I hated the old one, and killed it with Slayer-Silent scream, NF level 15 plus 30 volume...lol.) and even that made a difference...I plan on someday getting a10w7, or even just an 8w7 JL in a ported box, and running it off the stock amp(can be done on the 8w7), and just selling the Kenwood for like, a happy meal or something...lol.

I'm thinking about buying a box for the RF cause that plastic junk in the back rattles like a mofo, that or there's no airflow. (dark)

Stock box = teh suck. I like the location, but the area where the sub is is just not tight enough. I want a custom wood enclosure built up in the stock location, with two 8"s and one amp in the middle.
{8} AMP {8} < could be done?

I don't see why not. It's weird though...everyone seems to hate the sub-setup, but I don't really have any issues with the stock box. Mine doesn't rattle or anything. The sub sucked, but like I said I replaced it with the JL, and now everything is fine.

You mean take out the sub with the 4 screws, put some foam and replace the sub by squeezing the foam between the box and the sub ? Im asking that because my box rattle like hell juste behind the sub, not anywhere. I did everything I could on the upper part (inside the car)... the only thing that I didnt check is directly behind the sub. Anybody got an idea or a tip ?

Thanks

Did it bolt right up or what? What did you do to have to make it fit. I want to replace my piece of crap as well.

bump for updates on pics of install if any.... if not, this week I'm taking mine apart and I'll try and take some pics with my phone. Going to measure the box and find out what speakers will work efficiently.... going to make a new post... keep you eyes open for it.

Hey, do you think that the T5508-04 sub would fit? Its a little bit bigger of a sub, and I know there is not alot of depth in the enclosure if the box. Just wondering
