I have been looking at M's for along time, but have always been leary of the maintenance on them...you can't beat the look of a BMW IMO.(2thumbs)

Join the BMW Car Club and get wired in to the Bimmer community; you'll be able to find out which dealers and indie shops are first-rate and which ones aren't. Lots of shops offer discounts of up to 25% on parts and/or labor to club members. No, you can't maintain an M car on a shoestring, but you can run it for a lot less than you might expect- especially if you are willing to do some of the minor maintenance/repairs yourself.

Can't really compare the 2. Not in the same class in tersm of engine, price, etc. The speed3 is still my favorite car under 25k. The only thing that I didn't like was FWD. I have always owned AWD and RHD's before the Speed 3 and it's very hard to make the switch.

he went from a ms3 to an m3. id say the difference deserves comparing. m3's arent that fast. yes a fast car but remember all spec numbers are from the flywheel. a decent ms3 isnt that far off. having said that i would still rather have a e46M3 than my ms3
