new pcm flash for the msp as of tonight

i work at a dealership. u can call who ever but prob 99% of them are not going to know what u are talking about. u will have to give them the bullient nummber and have them look it up. btw dont take my word for it, lol j/p

ok guys if u read carefully on the flash it says is a rewrite of the flash written on 10/06/03 or whenever. so this is a updated version of the flash.

It doesn't say that. It says that this is a new bulletin that supersedes the old one. It also says that the "repair procedure, calibration and warranty information have been revised." This doesn't mean it's a new program. I highly doubt it is, but guess where I'll be Monday morning...

Buy why would they make a new TSB for the same FLASH. Doesnt make sense... it got to be a new calibration otherwise they wouldnt have made this TSB (dunno) !!! Fingers are crossed here :) !!! Maybe the first flash was a pre-flash to make us happy until they made the real one with "Pollution stuff" approbation...

Or maybe its just the dealerships being just what they are..scumbags

I would love if this is real but Im still on the fence as to believe it or not

If you read the procedures, they are different. I imagine the stupid techs were having too many problems following the old procedure.

I just called my dealer, and of course they knew nothing.

New PCM Calibration Part Number
3ALU-12A650-MC

3ALU-12A650-MC is what was written on my yellow label on the door frame... almost a year ago! The procedure may have changed but nobody usually updates a software and keep the same exact number!

Yeah... this is weird. I didn't hear of anything coming out, of course I haven't asked in a few months. However Mazda in the past has done re-re- calibrations under the same number.

It is under the Whats New! category in ESI. However when looking for the file to download it's not there, or I'm not looking hard enough? I don't know. We will see monday I guess.

Subscribing...

Damn, I hope this thing is for real... The only dealer I have by my house doesn't make a big deal out of little mods like intake and crap... but they never know ANYTHING about these flashes.. I had to drive 3.5 hours down to Portland (from Seattle) to get my first (sucky) flash cuz they were the only ones that seemed to know anything about it...

I'm interested

I've heard so much bad news about the first flash that I've never had it done. I hope they did a major improvement this time. We'll see...

ok, i got my first flash when i was stock, now that i have several mods including upped boost. is this something that will affect me? positive or negative?
(hesitation is still present after 1st flash, just not as bad)

sorry to burst the bubble but i dont want everyone to get there hopes up, justed hooked my car to the wds at work, which has a version way past the one posted in that pdf and there is no new pcm update its just a revision for the tsb. better luck next time

the reason I didn't get mine is that I've heard of engines going boom with too little fuel do possibly/likely the flash. Even Turbo mag experience this first hand when they had one as a project car. After reading that arcticle, I wont have mine flashed.

That's what I was thinking! It's just a revision of THE DOCUMENT itself and not the program!

That's because the flash advances the timing which will more than likely make your engine lean out under higher boost. On the other hand, if you are raising the boost without engine management you're a fool, or are planning on buying a new engine soon.

The procedure may have changed

Procedure is pluging a wire into the ECU and pressing a button to download the new Flash. I dont think IMO they would have wrote a new TSB just for that ;) !!! Anyway, I dont know what it is exactly so Ill just wait like everyone else and see :) !!! Just hope for good news though...
