Not looking to join, but just dropping in to say that I was in NO a week ago on the 13th and 14th. I actually did drive through Houma on the way there, taking 90 from Lafayette, visiting the Tabasco plant and going through the bayou. NO rocks!!

We wished we could've spent more time in cajun country but we had to book it to make it to NO that night (left from Houston that morning). We had originally planned on sleeping at Grand Isle but somehow we thought we had an extra day and didn't, so we had to rush through to NO since we had reservations for that night. The only things we stopped for really was to eat in boussard, visit tabasco, and check out some swamps (shrug)

I love cajun cooking, it friggin rocks!! Too bad crawfish were out of season, though (guitar)

next time you go to grand isle, go to the state park and ask for sheila, tell her john sent you (i'm her cousin) and yall will probarably be able to camp and fish for free on the beach. restrooms,showers,and grills included at the camp site. bring mosquito spray..they are as big as a pelican. and try the food at the star fish resteraunt.good food

next time you come down tell me, ill see if i am free to meet ya.. and the only place u will catch alligators is down the bayous.. Houma is a city now(not a few buildings in the middle of a swamp.. ).. no gators around the city..

hey....this is a really old post, but i live in gonzales (just south of baton rouge) now and will be moving down there to go to UNO.....wondering if you guys still meet up....needing something to do besides school....im only outside NO by like 45 min. so i might be able to stop by before i move down.
