im just messin with you man! hahahah. good luck racin!
I have to say that Tom is tied for first when it comes to vendors IMHO. He has provided one of the best upgrades for us. If you have ever blown a motor because of oil problems you will agree. Without this upgrade our cars would suck even worse.
Please don't bash a damn thing just because of having to wait a few days for an update. Try doing this s*** yourself once and You will see what a b**** it is. I have local problems with fabricating and sourcing stuff. Can't imagine what dealing with China is like.
Tom: thanks for everything. Your hard work and dedication to the community is greatly appreciated. Good luck to you and the TEAM.
good question
hey tom i was wondering if u ran the car with the prototype or did some quick testing or something
Been following this thread since the beginning, and could only wish this was next year when I could afford this (especially at the introductory price)...
That's great to hear about how well it cools. One question though; would you think this radiator would be a bad addition for autocrossing since you normally have a short time to warm-up (unless you want to idle for a really long time)? Also, what does the rest of your cooling system consist of, including the thermostat details...?
That's good to hear. Being one of the most modified NA Proteges on this forum, I know that I'll have some cooling issues if I get into lapping next year. AutoX is one thing but constant high revving isn't going to be good for me. How did you guys cool that high-strung engine without this radiator? Did you use the Ron Davis you mentioned before?I think it would be a great addition because any "power adders" usually increase cooling needs so anything you may do will be compensated for...on the other hand if it is not warming up fast enough you can always block off some of the grille opening to "tune" how quick you want it to warm up. It is much easier to make a system warm up faster while almost impossible to add cooling efficiency without changing major components!
The rest of our cooling system includes only the OE passenger side fan and some plastic panels we fabricated to duct the air from the grill directly to the radiator. A very basic system...
