hey all!
I'm a first-time Mazda owner, first-time manual car owner, and first-time owner of a car that doesn't get bullied on the road. I'm originally from East Orange NJ, but relocated to OH three years ago.
I bought a used 2007 MS3 with 15k miles, previously owned by a 45+ yr old lady who took immaculate care of the car. It's just like new. I love it!!
My previous ride was a 2000 Mitsu Galant 4cyl. I loved the car for its looks, but cried when I couldn't keep up with Kia's and Honda Fit's... Just got tired of being bullied... What made matters worse is that the G looked fast, but was mostly stock in performance.
Anyway, it's been an interesting experience so far... The last time I drove anything manual was nearly 20 years ago... So, I'm relearning manual on a car that I really shouldn't be... My only saving grace is that I'm not lead-footed and could really care less about other drivers getting pissed when I either stall, accidentally peel out, or slow-start from a dead stop. I'm patient and will get the hang of it pretty soon...
Amazing car! I'm not looking to do much other than add mud guards. After nearly 10 years in a Galant, I don't need more power than a stock MS3. Besides, I really would like to keep it a sleeper.
