Yellow Mazda Mp3
Hey everyone! Just wanted to say hi to everyone on the board and to let you know of my new purchase of a yellow mp3. Its been a rollercoaster getting this vehicle, but so far its been worth it.

It started off with me being interested in a 1998 eclipse for sale at the mitsubishi dealership. We did the paperwork and tried to get me to finance without a co-signer (bad credit:mad: ) but it didnt happen. He kept mentioning to me to get this "new" vehicle called the MAZDASPEED (at the time, i had no clue what it was). Since it was brand new, i really didnt wanna get my hopes up on seeing this car and LOVING it (which DID happen ;) ) . So...the dealer brought me across the street to the mazda dealership to check out the car. I fell in love with it, no lie.

So we head back to his desk, fill out more paperwork and send it in to see if i qualify. I guess he was saying that i have a much better chance to get financed on a new car than used. While this was being done, we went out for a test drive. Mind you, this was my 1st time driving a turbocharged car. The sound and the pickup was awesome. It was something i never experieced before.

But of course with my luck, i get denied once again. Basically i gave up hope, until the dealer once again mentioned another car. A Mazda mp3 (another car i never heard of). He showed it to me, and it was.....yellow:eek: . I sorta laughed, but it actually looked really good. Never pictured myself in a yellow car before lol.

Once again, did the numbers, got denied....

But thankfully, my parents finally decided to co-sign for me. Sorta wished they co-signed for the MSP (too pricey they say...), but im real happy with the mp3 so far.

From a played out eclipse, to a rare mp3...what are the odds? :D

WELL, welcome aboard, and congrats on the new purchase!!!

That's the same thing with my P5. I never liked yellow cars and would never buy one, but then I saw the P5 in yellow (and test drove in it) and it hooked me.

That's the same spirit that MP3 and MSP owners carry around here. These cars are headturners.

Save some money, and in time you can get a turbo kit, it's all good. It's still a great car to drive, lots of fun.

Oh yeah, being in RI you can come to any meets around the area. There's one planned for July 13th in Foxboro, MA. Contact slug420 for more info.

Congrats on the car man. I still remember when I bought mine last october and the great feelings I had and still have for that matter. I don't feel bad dumping all my extra money into this car either cause it just gets better and better. Treat her right. These cars deserve special treatment. And congrats again.

cool, welcome aboard.. how much did you pay for the mp3 if u don't mind me asking??

I dont mind at all

I paid 14k. It had 15,000 original miles on it and was mint. I had a trade in, so i got 4k off the retail. So not too shabby

I had a crazy story getting to mine. I had a '94 Dodge Shadow and it crapped the bed, so I needed another car. My roommate had a Passat, so I was looking into a 99 Jetta. I decided it was too pricey for me because I only wanted a 4 year loan. So we looked around for cheaper cars one day, but I couldn't find ANYTHING I liked. We finally stopped at this used car dealership at the end of the auto mile. The car caught my eye IMMEDIATELY. I figured it was way out of my league, so I forgot about it. THen the dealer showed me a Nissan Sentra SE Type R, but it was out of my range. Then he showed me the MP3 and said, and I quote, "Now if you want to be REAL PIMP, you can try the MP3!" Since I'm damn near a pimp, I had to jump on it. I test drove it and the rest is history.

I love my baby. You'll love yours too. Congrats and welcome to the forum.

PS. I got a 66 month loan and the car ended up at about 12,300, plus I got 1000 for my POS Shadow that wasn't worth a dollar.
