New member same old question.

Hey,

I'm a new member from Green Bay. I fiqured I would introduce myself alittle before I just showed up on the boards. I have always been involved in cars, only recently did I see a RX-7 for the first time, since then I've been doing anything in my power to own one and will soon. I am engrossed in the tuner and drift scene, yet my father and I have been going to car shows from years and I understand the importance of an all original car, even though I want it to go really fast.

Now for the same old question, as I mentioned I am hoping to own one soon, I am looking for a 1st gen 1st-2nd series in the Green Bay or Wisconsin Rapids area. I know what to standardly look for in a car but I'm uncertain about specific things on an 7 not to mention I don't know the first thing about a rotary engine and what to look for if it has been sitting.

I recently found one in the Wisconsin Rapids area that has been sitting for around 10 years and I don't know to trust the engine or not. Plus the front end is alittle screwed up and I havn't seen any replacements for that anywhere. I anyone could provide any help that would be awesome.

Welcome to the boards! We're holding a meet at a park in Wisconsin Rapids next weekend in case you're interested. Maybe you could take a look at this RX-7 then.

Where in Wis. Rapids?? I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it I work every Saturday, 3-11 so it kinda chunks out my day but if possible i'd love to be there.

Yeah I saw that I pmed him about it but havent heard anything back yet. I talked to a fellow rx-7 enthusiast here in GB and he said that carbon build-up in the engine is a pretty serious thing and I'm not sure if I have the time nor the money for rebuilding an engine right now. thanks

You might want to talk to Ken (Captain KRMP5). He lives in northern IL and I believe still has his RX-7. He's also a vendor on these forums.
