Just recently got my 3 since my 5 got stolen 2 months ago, was a long hard road to get it but finally did, not without it's problems.
I'm more of a pessimist though so I won't really rave how great the car becasue everyone else seems to be doing it.
It's much more of a luxury/family car to drive in which is pretty cool considering the confort but I do have some problems that I haven't really seen addressed here and would liek to confirm if anyone else feels this.
First of all I did read a few posts about the brakes but mine is actually pretty scary, when I reverse i sometimes hear a really loud honking sound if i tap the brakes, let alone sometimes a grinding if i am moving forward, this is something my dealership will be looking into shortly but apparently it's a known issue from a few posts i believe i read here.
The airbag light stays on sometimes, obviously not when I want to take it to the dealer though but this could be a number of things or sometimes nothing at all, reminds me of the check engine light on most other cars.
Finally acceleration, I can't tell for sure though the last few years I have been driving a stickshift and always had much more control over passing and accelarating, but this seems to have more HP then the P5 and although the tiptronic won't make up 100% of a stickshift, shouldn't it shift gears a little bit quicker than it does? I don't know if anyone else experiences these problems but i feel it takes just as long to change gears then if i were to just leave it on automatice and slam the gas and let it do the shifting on it's own. Basically i have been more a of cautious driver lately but in a bad way, like when you are walking towards someone and you both move out of the way for eachother only to be in each others way, well it's not fun when this happen with cars
Oh and Blindspots, can you guys see anything behind you, left or right of you? Forget about behind me, i just go and whatever happens happens, all i see is the sky when i look behind me and as far as blind spots go I have these big ass plastics covering everything around me.,.....
Other than that the car is great, volumne control is a big plus, including the automatic channel scan/memory feature. when i first got the car i purposely left the city to scan for different radio stations and have them saved in memory.... and with the current gas prices it's a hell of a lot more economic.
