New Intake Manifold Out Today

well i will chime in for cullen and myself say this...this will be my next mod! it is a quality project and well more info will shortly come....

Thats def. not a 626 manifold.

I'm curious to see one in action, I personally would think that the pcm would not like the vics not being there. It changes the fuel maps at 5200rpm, I wonder how it will react without the (extra plenum?) being there.

wtf is the flaming for

I must admit it amazes me how badly you people can complain. Last I left off HP gains are good. I guess I'm wrong! Everyone here wants more products for the msp. Right? If all you do is flame the new products then wtf do you want. Why in the hell should anyone even try to come out with new products. I have been running a protype manifold on my pr5 for 2 months now. It is N/A and let me tell you it is worth the money. On a N/A engine the engine growls and it is a awesome sound. As far as HP I can beat the fuk out of civics oh and 1.8t vw's. not bad for a former stock 97whp station wagon. If any one has removed the manifold I think you will agree that is has a lot of room of improvement. Cullen did just this. I was there when he did the dyno. It was around 2:00 and hot as hell, 97 degrees out and the system was heat soaked. The fan hardly worked and the garage was closed up till we got there. Even with this the car ran 201.9 whp. You can argue and b**** all you want but there are gains involved. Also the baseline that was used was ran 3 months ago at 187 whp. The car has had no other modifications done. It was about 82 degrees then. So say what you want the number are there. The most impressive thing is the curve. The car pulls and pulls. You will fill a difference. I drive these cars every day. I even took a engineer from Japan out in my car and he said this is how the car should have been built. Well it was more like (with a Japanese accent)mazda need build car like this...Can I take car home with me...Gotta love the engineers...Well that's about it......... let the flaming continue and the ignorant bs start. Thanks

Good question. It doesn't really say the runner length or size. Or the plenum size.

If it was designed properly it should be an awsome upgrade.

I for one appreciate the vendors out there who produce all the parts for the protege. I would like to see a NA protege with this manifold and have the dyno results posted here. If that is done and the gains look good, then I might buy this product.

O yea, I forgot to ask, will this throw a cel because there are no VICS or VTCS?

The pcm doesn't actually look for the VTCS or VICS to work. All it cares about is the solenoids ability to recieve the signals. As long as the solenoids are plugged in you should not see a cel.

aren't the solenoids plugged in by vacuum line? didn't you get rid of one on your intake manifold? i have no cel light w/. unless i'm just confusing things, i don't know. i'm lost

As long as the electrical connections are plugged into the solenoids..

I think you took it wrong.... I don't think people are questioning Cullen's new mani, but we want to see dynos and hard information. You gave most of that along with others. I for one like to see proof and stats before I spend $500. And where is cullen??? HE should jump in or start a new thread.

Thanks for the info though. So are the port sizes where the mani bolts up equivalent to a PnP or do you think this could still be PnP a bit. I figured while it was off the car it would not hurt.

I did not know he didnt have the AV status... that sucks. Seems he does not need it on this one!

I wonder when they start making them....

I just talked to cullen a few minutes ago and told him that everyone wanted to see dyno charts! He told me that he will be posting them up on the site in a little bit. Just be patient guys he just dynoed it yesterday and this thread was made today ;)
