New Intake Manifold Out Today

dyno sheet?

just curious where this power gain is up top all over what, and also if tq is lost down low or not

Maybe they won't post it because it loses power down low without VICS.

yea interested in the dynos as well. what mods / boost? gains might be less on stock setup if this was tested on a vehicle boosting 9 psi or something.

I also think its funny they claim "Largest HP Gain for ANY Bolt-on Currently on the Market for the Protege" and "Gains of 14.7 hp and 16.5 ft/lbs of torque"

while Rich gained somewhere in the neighborhood of 25hp with the Mental Addiction MSP exhaust manifold alone.

and isn't this a manifold off of an older FS, possibly an old 626 mani... I dont doubt this mani has been ported or extruded, or the like... but hmm....

I thought it was more like 12hp gained with the tubular mani, at least that is what the video said. Maybe I am wrong.

MAM > ALL

Don't dispute it............ever

why do people get this attitude whenever someone corrects misinformation? I'm not the one, nor is Mental Addiction making a claim such as this. if we did, and we were proved to be wrong I wouldn't cry about it... why does everyone else? hmm?

Wasn't that 30whp gain at 12 psi? They don't say for the manifold that the boost was upped or not. the MAM manifold only produced something like 5whp with stock boost right?

not sure,
i meant that with the tubular mani, stock boost didnt show big gains.
but it showed huge gains at higher boost(12psi with mani vs 12psi without)

yeah, thats my bad, it was done at 12 psi... I forgot that. and I never said that this manifold doesn't work, and we'll all see what it can do when someone does a before/after. I do think its legitamate, and I don't think it will hurt low end very much either, because it still has long tuned runners, which still benefit low rpm where boost has not been achieved yet. I also think it flows better than a stock 3rd gen intake manifold, which is probably why it increases peek hp as well. and even though I believe this, I still want to see a before/after for personal reasons. hey, I would even buy one today, as long as I get real proof it doesn't lose anything down low, because I have 8:1 compression, and I need everything I can get down there.

Wow, we didn't get those results at all. From 4700-5100 RPM's hp/tq were very close but did not lose power. Here is the dyno numbers.

The plenum was tested on a MSP.
This MSP dyno'd 135 hp / 142 tq - STOCK

BASE RUN: Custom Injen/6 inch Air Ram CAI, SMIC Kit, GHL TB, 9.5 psi
TEST RUN: Custom Injen/6 inch Air Ram CAI, SMIC Kit, GHL TB, 9.5 psi & Intake Mani

BASE Peak HP 187.2 and TQ 187.4
TEST peak HP 201.9 and TQ 203.9

Attached is stock manifold with dual runnners and the VCTS.

Could someone tell if it's a 626 Mani from those pics?
Junk yard trip (burnout)

wonder if I should sell my p&p'd manifold for this....hmmmm

you should have the EGR pipe on stock mani. It ports a bit of exhaust gas into the mani I believe. It is a tube with a compression fitting.... you can see it on the right side of the stock Callaway mani, its bends back towards the intake mani around the right side of the engine. Hope this helps.
