Selling my Trans Am and I already bought an MS3 to replace it. Couldn't pass up a good deal on an '07 with 7k miles, so here we are.

The MS3 is harder to play Smokey and the Bandit with but is big enough for Sally Field to change out of her wedding dress in.

$18.5k from dealer. From what I read online, that was the approx. TRADE-IN on it, so I was fairly confident it was a good deal.

No mods on MS3 and none planned. My Trans Am can smoke it, but that's just because of a couple minor mods and my shoddy shifting haha

Welcome...You may want to add a new intake to your new MS3,Its a must...Is your Trans Am a WS6?If not Im not sure how its going to smoke the MS3.Put a intake on your 3 and see how it feels then.

WS6 package effectively adds 0 horsepower to Trans Ams. I have the regular T/A. The Ram Air from GM is a bunch of crap. My SLP lid and K&N make my car significantly faster :p

I haven't seen any stock MS3s posting 13.6s 1/4 yet... and that's just from stock T/A. So maybe "smoke" isn't the word you'd want me to use. It would win by a few car lengths.

They dont sell the ms cai anymore so you will have to buy a used one or find some left overs in stock somewhere.THe dealer doesnt have to install it to keep your warranty. You could also get a cobb sri and then you would just have to remove it before taking it to the dealer. It dont take any time to install the stock air box before dealer visits.

there was a stop sale issued for it when they figured out it was generating some CEL on some installations. They to date have not figured out a fix for it. I have heard mention that they are just not going to sell them at all anymore which is sad, since it was the only option for many of us who paid $ for extended warranties.

dealer

To avoid voiding the warranty, I'm guessing I need to get a mazda CAI installed by the dealer?
Welcome to front wheel drive land. I came over here from rear drive v8s years ago. I would suggest talking to your salesman and tech about what upgrades they consider voiding the warrranty on. Might as well right?

ha... well the salesman keeps bugging me about an intake and exhaust combo for like $1400. That hurts my feelings.

Cost me $400 for the Magnaflow cat-back that I installed myself on my T/A...

some of the exhaust system prices are just obscene IMO....

ahem.... exhaust mod.... ahem.... Cut off a resonator and muffler. I asked my dealership, they said it doesn't void the warranty, gives a nice crisp sound and less backpressure allowing more turbo spool, sounds sick!
