New here, Just bought 09 MS3

Mud flaps?......I will have to consider the motro mount.

Rally Armor makes flaps for our cars. Don't debate too much on the motor mount, it's absolutely necessary to improve shifting and throttle response. Less engine movement means a happier owner. Trust us all when we say this.

Even if you install what I got (Corksport Motor Mount Inserts), it makes quite a difference overall. Even if you don't plan on modding much, this is a required mod.

Thanks for the info on the noise. I figured it was normal. Snow tires will be in the future but next year. Car will sit in the bad weather now. I cannot stand to get it dirty. Mud flaps?......I will have to consider the motro mount.

Not everyone likes them. If you asked me when I first bought the car I would have said they were ugly. But after a few rocks kicked up chipping the paint on the doors I bought them and so far they've worked great. The flaps will protect against the rock chips kicked up in the summer as well as the crap in the winter. Here's just one thread with a few pics.

I am unhappy because there is too much snow and salt around and I do not want to take it out. Come on spring.

Zimmer, where in the hell in South Boston do you park your car? I know it is a circus down there. Especially after a snow storm.

don't get me started its a soar subject because i've had thoughts of having to part ways with the MS3 and getting a new wrangler (only at a sick deal) because of parking.. anyways back on topic. I have managed off street parking for the last 3 years. I live here because after college it was just easier to get a roommate everyone was in the city. I had an awesome awesome! apt with off street parking i had to pay a little more for the spot. This last year I moved to a bad apt still have free off street parking but the apt is tiny and crappy and really was my only option. Luckily my current roommate/buddy didn't care because there are much nicer apt's w/out parking. Snow is horrendous and i'll sell the MS3 before parking it on the street. Now you'll all ask why don't you move out of the city. I'm about to go back to school for a masters and its so nice to be blocks away from school. K end rand.

Tough to break this beast in gently..... Zimmer, maybe consider somewhere like Cambridge or Arlington to live. Much more room and not that far. I lived in Cambridge for years and commuted to Boston for school years ago.

definitely a good thought. just tough to get a roommate to move out there and then it would cost me more to live alone than it would to live in the city! thanks for the advice I'm going to be looking well in advance this year.

Yeah welcome to the new england area. I didnt like the thought of mudflaps either but snow and salt are brutal and chipped the hell out of my old 6, so I knew it was necessary! Check out the NEPOC section for more mazda area guys and meets.

Hey man! Welcome. Im another true red MS3 owning Masshole! I used to live up in Groton MA, now down in worcester.

Definately check out those rallyarmor mudflaps... they are worth every penny. And dont take your new baby out in the snow without the right tires.. a few people on this site have already learned that the hard way.

Heres my little red whip with her 16 inch snows and rally armor flaps.

I recomend townfair tire for snow tires. They say they say they will beat or match tireracks pricing. When I went they were $100 cheaper then tirerack, did a free alignment, and gave me 30 days to to test my new tires. I also purchased a set of used OEM TPMS sensors. I forgot to leave them in the car when they put the snows on. I brought the car back a week later and they installed the sensors and rebalanced the tires for free. I went to the the one in Shrewsbury. If you go ask for Ron.

I would rather go to a shop because if there is a problem with something they sell you, it is easier to bring back and have fixed.

Oh and with snow tires, this car is uber fun in the snow!

Welcome to the forum.
