2007 Mazda 3
Well, we're getting ready to turn in our leased Mazda 3. Went to the dealer today and looked at and drove a fully loaded Grand Touring CX-7. It is the dark red (forgot what they call it) and has the Navi, leather, rear dvd , ect.

Well, we went to the dealer mainly to figure out what it was gonna cost us to get out of our lease over a year early, cuz we're almost up to the milage! And then we were gonna head to the Acura dealer to drive a new RDX (my wife is kinda set on one). Anyway while we were there they got us to drive the previously mentioned CX-7. We were both pretty impressed.

Well, after talking to them for a while, they agreed to wipe our slate clean of the $2000 left in payments on the 3 (this surprised the heck out of me!) and sell us the CX-7 ($34,500 sticker) for $29,500, nothing down!

How does this sound to you guys in the know? Good deal, avg deal, I could do better?

The bad part is that we left there to go drive the RDX and my wife likes it alot better and if we go that route, it's gonna cost us ALOT more!

Sorry for such a long first post and feel free to tell me about any likes/dislikes or opinions of either car.

hmmm....
My uncle is deciding between an RDX and a CX-7.
Here's my thoughts....

CX-7's favor:
CX-7 has a 6 gear tranny, vs RDX 5.
CX-7 is cheaper; in your case, a lot cheaper.
Much more mods available.

RDX favor:
a bit faster
Paddle shifters
Power seats on passenger side (cx-7 is driver side only)
Aux jack ('07 and '08 CX-7 has no Aux jack)
MP3 (CX-7 Bose upgrade w/subwoofer - head unit will not play MP3 / Although extremely easy to add an aux jack to the head unit)
Attractive interior - more 'pockets', interior lights (glove box) etc.

For me.... cheaper and mod availability did it for me. I love my CX-7 now...

Thanks for the info! I'm for the CX7 all the way, I just hope I can convince the wife. Those kinds of posts can only help! I've been doing some research and noticed that the 2007 and 8's had a few downsides like premature tire wear, interior noise, and premium fuel requirement. I've read that the 2009 will run fine on 87, is it true? Also, have they fixed the tire and noise problems?

Ahhh yes..

'08 CX-7 can run on 87, but they still recommend premium. Tire wear is pretty bad if you get the Bridgestone Turanza's.

After only 16,000kms this was the condition of my tires. Fortunately Mazda replaced them for me, but still..... Interior noise I haven't really noticed.

good info above. the main reason i bought the cx-7 over the rdx is the value. you get more features for less money on the cx-7. with the rdx you are paying for "luxury" that I didn't really notice being there...

Thanks for the info guys, this looks to be a great forum!
What do you guys think of that price?

... Sorry... don't have the experience in US dollars, and too lazy to look up the conversion rates right now... However on the cx-7 forum, there's a whole thread on this.... mcx7 com
