Everyone,

I just talked to the dealership about a popping noise coming from the front drivers side of the car when going over bumps. I know there is a replacement for the rear sway bar bushings and i already have those installed, but i have never read anything about the front ones. According to the dealership there is a new bushing now out for the front sway bar to fix that clunking sound. Appearently they just got notified about it last week. So if you have the problem, you might want to call your dealer to get the new parts. Sorry... i have no part number for you.

He could be an idiot though ... who knows.
My dealer also said there are new front bushings out (I am getting them installed this weekend). I will get the PN off them.

According to them these are newer than what you have ... 3rd generation of the same bushing ... these are suppsed to be harder and longer lasting.

Would they replace these parts if your MSP has been modded?

Just curious, probably depends on the dealership.

Mine will ... i dont know ... it is not a recall ... but just a service bulletin they recieved. If not i dont think they would mind just giving you the parts and you could do it yourself ... they cant be that expensive ... its just urethayne(sp?) bushings.

I have a clunk in the front only when turning the wheels though. Is this the front clunk or something else. not a major clunk but can hear something clunk when turning the wheels standing still in my driveway. Could the front sway bar bushings be causing this??

Its possible i guess ... mine in only when i pull out of a driveway onto the street and the spring in that corner has to compress... or when i go over a speed bump. I have not yet heard it while diving on normal road ... even over potholes, or sitting still. I will go out and turn my wheels hard and see if i hear it.

if the wheel is centered sitting still move the steering wheel left and right and there is a little noise kind of clunk something moving. Not sure it this is normal really don't have time to take to dealer if this not an issue. So guys i would appreciate Yall (texas) can try this on your MSP's too. and please post any feedback.

So you are saying sitting on a flat surface not moving forward or backward ... turning the whell left and right?

yeah

I hear this kind of tick when turning the wheel left and right!!

I hope i am not thread jacking but wanted to know if this was from worn front sway bar bushings

Thanks

Those are the latest ones that I'm aware of, unless celdridge has different.

Ok ... i just had my car in the shop this morning to get this problem fixed and i did confim with the dealer that there are a new set of front bushings that are newer than the E series ones for the front. They had the E series ones in stock and i would not let them put them on my car ... i said i would wait the week for the new ones to come into stock. He said that all mazdaspeed dealerships should have them in stock within 3 - 4 weeks.
